  1. I'm talking about the one off Laurel Acres Park Drive, it has a playground next to it that my kids love to play at, and I can bank fish and watch them at the same time: https://goo.gl/maps/GzEsPw2Ay5G2 I think the one @SnailsYeast is talking about is 3 private lakes off Birchfield Dr, but it looks to be private property.
  2. I use the Seiko Knot Assist 2.0 on the water. It just makes it a bit easier to fix the 2 lines in a stationary position, rather than hold one end in your teeth. I can tie a FG in about 6 mins on the water, which is rarely ever since I usually break at the lure knot and have long enough leader to keep using.
  3. I don't eat sweet potatoes, only white potatoes.
  4. I like SV reels for lighter weight lures and skipping/pitching, and Curado DC's for heavier lures with power fishing.
  5. I just cast with both arms now; took a few months to not feel "weird". I'm equally proficient in both except for skipping, I can only skip accurately with my right arm.
  6. DC reels have been around for a long time. There are videos of people dunking them in water, then using them.
  7. Cut a piece of plywood to the dimensions you want to distribute the clamp force.
  8. Laurel Acres Lake, that’s where I go when I visit the in-laws. Also there’s a lake/creek across Moorestown Mall that I’ve seen people fishing at. Looked like a good body of water.
  9. If your intent was to make friends on this forum, you're doing a really bad job at it.
  10. On baitcasting gear I go with a FG knot, and if I break off it's usually at the lure. On spinning gear, I go with a uni to uni, easier to tie and I don't have to worry about micro guides or passing through the line guide.
  11. Getting reels cleaned can really start to add up and I'm probably going to start doing my own reels (lower end ones) after this season. I'm also a little OCD so any little gunk or reel noise drives me crazy. There are a myriad of ultrasonic cleaners on Amazon, lots in the 20oz container range. I'm thinking that's sufficient to only put bearings in there. The rest of the components I would clean using an Ardent wire mesh basket and container. Any recommendations for ultrasonic cleaners, or are the ones off Amazon sufficient?
  12. Yes, right after applying the U40 I feel like it changes the smooth, rubbery texture of cork to a very fine grit sandpaper like finish. But after using it and getting fish slime on the cork, I stop noticing it. So for me, it's cork-> layer of U40 -> layers of hand oil + fish slime = feelsgoodman!
  13. I usually have no problems with kayak fishermen, I fish both yaks and in my little boat. I have more problems with leisure kayakers, they usually take a path between my boat and the bank when I'm clearly casting to the bank, or they will sit at the BOAT ramp with their kayak chit chatting away with other people while there's a line of boats waiting to come in.
  14. MoCo Boaters - where do you get your boat/trailer serviced? Last year I bought my boat used, and didn't take it very far from home. This year I plan to drive it around a little more and want to make sure it's ready.
  15. Anyone want an email coupon I have for $5 off $30 at BPS in-store? Expires 2/15.
  16. 7'4" Daiwa ZIL741HRB 9.1:1 Daiwa Zillion TWS 50lb Power Pro Hi Viz Yellow FG knot to 20lb Seaguar Fluoro leader Not my favorite way to fish though.
  17. Especially true for rods and reels. Posts of an item "as brand new" because it may never have been used or is near mint for the near MSRP price is not equitable because a retailer also provides a refund policy, and/or the manufacturer warranty. I highly doubt some guy selling his used gear is going to give me a 12 month warranty for a replacement.
  18. We call them atomic buffalo turds 'round my parts....get the pepto ready!
  19. Add stogies and a firepit for halftime. But yeah I'm having 15-20 friends and family, so far on the menu: 6 racks of hickory smoked St. Louis spare ribs 4 dozen applewood smoked wings/drumlets Crock of beer braised chili Crock of sweet and sour meatballs 6 layer dip and machos Some vegetable platter my wife will get that no one ever eats Then for beverages: Old fashions with Basil Hayden rye whiskey Compass Box No Name scotch Stelzer german bier (export, pilsner, and dunkel styles) - my buddy imports these, and they are amazing
  20. Texas tackle split ring pliers, 4" should do the trick.
  21. I'm trying the jump frog this year. But my favorite right now is the Spro Bronze Eye popping frog.
  22. I bought 2 versions the Shakespeare 4'6 micro spincaster (push button baitcaster style, and trigger under style) for my sons a couple years ago. They work fine, but they can't take a huge beating. My son ran one into the wall by accident and snapped the tip off, but Dick's replaced it. The guides can bend pretty easy. The size and weight is perfect for small kids though.
  23. About 4PM on a hot day in June but in a creek mouth in the shade.
  24. I bought a Penn Battle combo, and the 6'6 that came with it is a M/MF rod.
