Pflueger President vs. Pflueger President XT
I have one President 2000 that doesn't spin much after letting go, and another 3000 that spins as much as my Daiwa BG's. They're all super smooth though. I think it's just a matter of how much factory grease is packed in there. No issues with these reels after 2 years with some fishing done in brackish water and post rinsing.

Power pro fraying
If you're fishing dirty water, clean your guides regularly too.

Any backpack recommendations?
For bankfishing where I don't have to trek too far, I use the Daiwa Tactical Fishing backpack. It holds a ton of gear, and can get heavy when fully loaded up. I also use it for my tackle bag on my little boat. I can cast with it depending on how full I load it up, but I usually just put it down and lean my other rods on it. When I know I'll be doing a good amount of hiking/moving, I can fit 4x 3600 boxes into a High Sierra backpack, and some other accessories. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H8250S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cabelas lifetime warranty cancelled!
LL Bean ended the lifetime return policy in February 2018.

Maryland - Triadelphia Reservoir
I fished from the rock pilings here when I was a kid and have great memories of lots of crappie. I used to get minnows at the Sunshine General Store back then too, and I stopped in once before the repair work was to be done. The owner had passed away, and the minnow tanks were empty and dusty. I was looking forward to trying it out again in 2019 with a little 14' bass boat this time around.

Amazon has the Daiwa Zillion ZIL741MHRB for $110.38, although it says 2 left, there is only 1 more as of 10:05AM. Edit: Looks like Amazon's pricing algorithm updated it to $169.99 after I bought one. They also have a ZIL661MXB for $121.71, 1 left. And ZIL721MHRB (Non-G version) for $136.46, 1 left.

Best Line Spooling Station ?
Yeah that mud is no joke...my frog rod guides are caked up.

Cabelas lifetime warranty cancelled!
It was a stereotyping joke, but I don't doubt he's a savvy business person. I'm actually glad and appreciative for what he's done for the sport. I am admittedly more of a Cabela's fan though, or was...

Best Line Spooling Station ?
What's that one called? I put a Daiichi Line Recycler on my X-mas wishlist for my wife this year. I plan to change out some line between reels. https://smile.amazon.com/DAIICHI-Speed-Recycler-Device-mantenance/dp/B000RXBVK8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543432781&sr=8-3&keywords=DAIICHISEIKO

Cabelas lifetime warranty cancelled!
From the 2016 10-K: Pursuant to the Merger Agreement, at the effective time of the Merger, each share of Class A common stock (as defined in the Merger Agreement), par value $0.01 per share, of the Company issued and outstanding immediately prior to the Effective Time will be cancelled and automatically converted into the right to receive $65.50 in cash, without interest thereon. So BPS acquired the stock of Cabela's, Inc. through a wholly owned subsidiary (Prairie Merger Sub, Inc.) by paying cash, and then merged them. So all the assets and liabilities of Cabela's would be in Prairie Merger Sub, Inc. due to the stock acquisition. BPS is a privately owned LLC, and the operating assets are probably sheltered in another subsidiary, let's call it BPS Stores, Inc. (not sure because it is private and doesn't have to report public financials). Most likely, the merger sub distributed the assets (fishing equipment, brick and mortar stores, etc) of Cabela's to BPS Stores, Inc., but not the liabilities (warranties, etc). So if you bring a lawsuit, it would be against Praire Merger Sub, Inc., which has little or no assets; BPS Stores, Inc. has no obligation to honor the warranties. Just a guess though.

Googan Plastics
I'll probably try the Bandito Bug when I get through my other plastic craws. Some of their stuff I can't stand to watch, but some are outright hilarious, such as:
-
2019 POWELL MAX
Previous models were $159 MSRP, but frequently on sale for $99-130. The SiC guides and Fuji seat will add some cost. Only 3 spinning rods in the line up...curious about that decision.

Why kill snakeheads?
Bowfin are like the grumpy older brother of the snakehead...love catching those too.
-
Cabelas Xml rods discontinued?
Probably being replaced by BPS branded rods. It’s too bad, I was going to be in the market for a medium/fast spinning rod and I like the XMLs.

Best rod power/action for these techniques
I think you need to add where you're throwing these lures too, such as cover, rocks, grass, etc. That can alter how much power or tip you'll need as well...IMO.

Limited Lifetime
Unfortunately, some people have ethics, and some people don't. Gonna strike that, I can't profess to be an angel so I shouldn't make that statement.
-
Limited Lifetime
Daiwa for their higher end offerings. It's mostly to cover their butt in the case of abuse...I mean, if someone sends a rod that is broken into 10 pieces, that's clearly not a manufacturer defect and shouldn't have to replace it with a brand new rod. Same with Cabela's, they have a lifetime guarantee against defects under normal wear and tear. I've used it with a broken rod tip, and they replaced with no questions asked.
-
Why kill snakeheads?
Found this: Maybe people are less likely to eat them in FL because of the perception that they are caught mostly in canals and therefore low water quality. I won't keep certain fish out of the Potomac where there's a direct waste discharge.

How do you keep line tight on the spool? (baitcaster)
I know exactly what you mean, basically anytime you're reeling in slack line, it's never going to lay tight to the spool with a baitcaster. I just keep checking how my line lays on the spool, then do a long bomb cast and straight retrieve to get it tight again. I don't let it get out of hand or it will cause a birdnest eventually.

Maryland's Who's who!
Nice gut on that one. I think I'm going to hit up Widewater, Wednesday morning before I go to my son's Halloween parade. Going to try a double fluke rig, and yo-yo a Rat L trap.
