  1. Nice stuff! MBR844C jiggin' = Chronarch MBR844c froggin' = Calais CBR843 = Curado Cabela's = Quantum 8-)
  2. Thanks, but I just want a dozen. I bought some last year, but the the rubber band thingies have disintegrated. I just want to buy a dozen and thought I might do some biz with a member. -Kent
  3. I would like someone to make me a dozen lumiflex spinnerbait skirts, all white. PM me with the cost. Thank you. -Kent
  4. Nope... I still have some GYCB baits that I purchased in 1997. Today they are in exactly the same condition they were the day I bought them. 8-)
  5. They are going to have to change the rules if someone catches a 12 pound smallmouth!

  9. You'll like it and chicks dig it! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1135503/ I thought this movie was charming. ;D ;D ;D
  10. I have both. The Calais is a more traditional reel which is a bit heavy and some find bulky. I suspect you will find the new Core 50MG7 more to your liking. On the other hand, if you are throwing bigger, heavier lures, the Calais might just be the ticket. I have mine mounted on a St. Croix Legend Elite EC70MHF. This rig is used for Mattlures Baby Bass and 3/4 oz. Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade Spinnerbaits. 8-)
  11. your d**n right, i wanna fish an ancient lake! There are a few on the U.S.- Canadian border. 8-)
  12. I know it's too cold right now, but have you all fished much below the dam in winter? I would bet the smallmouth are just as active there as below the rest of the Tennessee River dams. Just a thought! -Kent
  13. It was 10 degrees overnight, 5-10 mph winds. Currently, 12, but the wind has picked up. Memphis schools are closed. 8-)
  14. The tip of the PR844S is too soft. Technically, this is a saltwater popping rod. It is my main smallmouth rod for fishing shiners on a split shot rig. It will work great for any "moving lure", too. 8-)
  15. I'm a big fan of the Evo 2 jig head. Rig a GYCB 6 1/2' Kut Tail or Rage Tail Lobster slathered with MegaStrike and see what you think. Fish it as a shaky head with short moves and long pauses. 8-)
  16. Now, that's funny there... Most of my reels are silver or black, but for everything else, some shade of "forest green" is probably most guy's second favorite color... beige being #1. 8-)
  17. Good job! 8-)
  18. January 8, 1935 http://www.elvis.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvis_Presley HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  19. I'm on the other side of the coin. On average, my reels represent about 2/3 the cost of a rig. Reels are what make "fishing" fun! I am especially particular with spinning gear. This is what I primarily use when smallmouth fishing. An exceptional drag is key to controlling the surge when the fish nears the boat. Just "anything" won't do. 8-)
  20. This will pass... My pet brown fish will be hungry! 8-)
  21. Fifteen minutes......It's time to rock!
  22. Primary points lead into the original river. Secondary points are "inside" the primary shoreline. That's usually a cove or an arm of the lake. 8-)
  23. Spend some time looking around the site, there are currently three threads on this page that address your question: Technique specific rods are for "enthusiasts". Almost all your fishing can be done with just one rod. Beyond that, you only "need" three rods: Spinning: 6 1/2' or 7', M or MH, Fast Action (soft plastics and light lures) Baitcasting: MH, Fast Action (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and all single hooks) Baitcasting: MH, Moderate Action (all treble hook lures) 8-)
  24. It took me two years to "get" the jig and soft plastics have always been my strong suite! Geez...Once ya get it, ya got it, but it was hard for me, too. My suggestion: Fish NOTHING but a jig on occasional outings. Think crawdad moving slowly over a rock and trying to hide. When you think you are fishing slow, slow down! Fish jigs exactly where you are currently fishing soft plastics. 8-)
