Hello and welcome to the forum.
  2. I use a 1/0 Skip Gap hook and an 1/8 ounce bullet weight sinker. I fish it both ways.
  3. Zoom makes a 5" one in white.
  4. I have never used these but they look like they would be as good as any of them.
  5. I like the Zoom Fat Albert grubs. Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Seed, And Rootbeer Pepper Green have been good colors. I fish them as a Texas rig. I use the twin tail grubs as jig trailers.
  6. Another color I would add for soft plastics is junebug. It is an excellent color especially in stained water. I have better luck with it than black and blue.
  7. I thought your part of the country was too cold for them to survive.
  8. Hope things get better for you and have many more good days.
  9. The biggest worms I have used is the Zoom Ol Monster at 10.5". I have good luck with them.
  10. Looks like the bait monkey got a hold of you and didn't let go.
  11. I agree with you. I use 12# mono on my bait casters. I was using 10# on my spinning reels but this year I went 8# mono on some of them.
  12. I recently posed this same question on here. I did not get much info about them. One member did say he bought two of the during the BPS big spring sale but had not used them yet. I ended up buying a couple of Lews reels from DSG. I haven't used them yet but I am more comfortable with them than a store brand reel.
  13. I can't get my best baits anymore. Loved the old Rebel Deep Wee R and Rapala rattling Fat Rap. Use mostly Bandit and Norman crankbaits in there place. As for soft plastics purple worms have probably caught more than any others over the years.
  14. Crankbait Spinnerbait Baby Brush Hog Trick Worm Jig
  15. I agree with @ww2farmer about hook sizes. I always size my hooks to the bait I am using. I have caught SMB several times on baits that are sized and used more for LMB.
  16. The Tournament MB is discontinued. They the Tournament MP as a replacement. The Tournament MB has magnetic brakes and four centrifugal brake pins. The BB1 has six centrifugal brake pins and no magnetic brakes. The MB, MP, BB1 all have aluminum frames. The Mach 1has a graphite frame. The MP also has the dual braking system.
  17. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  18. It is not very often I use a lizard. When I do it is a Zoom 6" lizard in green pumpkin, watermelon seed, june bug. I usually have better luck with baby brush hogs.
  19. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  20. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  21. I use the San Diego jam knot most of the time. The only time I use a palomar knot is for a drop shot and I don't drop shot very often. I use a uni to uni knot for joining two lines together.
  22. My first reel was an Ambassadeur 5000. Got it mid to late 60s. I still have it, one that my dad got for a retirement gift, and a couple more I got from my BIL. My first low profile reel was a Shimano bantam black magnum. Junked it after I couldn't get parts for it.
  23. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  24. We will be doing the same thing in a little while. This is really strange.
  25. This is a much different Easter than what we are used to having. Hope this new normal ends soon and gets back to way it should be. Happy Easter everyone.
