  1. Finally got the boat out to go fishing for the first time this year. It was a real shock when I got to the lake. The ramps were packed and the parking areas were filled like I had never seen before. I went to three different ramps on two different lakes before I found one I could get a parking spot in. This was only because several people were leaving. After going through all this I finally got on the water and caught one small bass. I guess I will have to be at the ramp at 6:00AM if I want to get a decent parking space.
  2. Reminds me of some equipment I needed parts for when I was still working. I went to our parts dealer and told them what I needed. They said they would call the factory and get back with me. When he called he said when the factory people quit laughing about how old this was they said no parts were available. So new equipment had to be purchased to replace it. Another problem is so many people are playing on computers they don't know how to use a screwdriver.

  4. Hope your new reel works out okay for you. I need to replace a couple of my spinning reels. Still trying to figure out what I want. I thought about the Sahara but I can't talk myself in to getting a reel with a carbon graphite composite body. I still like an aluminum body reel.

I have caught a few on red or brown craw baits even though I don't use them a lot. I saw an article about colors several years ago. I stated that red was a better color for southern states. The farther north they were less effective.
  9. I just found out that the lakes the Army Corps of Engineers run have closed the beaches, rest rooms, and picnic areas. Campgrounds will remain closed until further notice. Boat ramps will remain open for now. Marinas operated by others you should call to see if they are open.
  10. Maybe she thought you were being paid by getting to sleep in the house instead of the dog house.
  11. I never thought about taking the line roller apart and cleaning it. Guess I will have to check mine out and see what they need.
  12. We have one station about 60 miles from me that is selling gas for .99 cents a gallon. The ones I have seen around here are $1.75 to the mid $1.80 a gallon.

  19. I haven't used buzzbaits much for a while but I do catch fish with them. I have Cavitrons as well as some other brands. I have my best luck with white, ghost minnow, or chartreuse colors. I just recently bought two black buzzbaits. One made by Greenfish Tackle and the other by War Eagle. I have never caught anything on a black buzzbait but a friend told me the SMB like them real well in an area we both fish some. I guess I will find out eventually.
  20. I tried Bang attractant years ago and never had any luck with it. I have never tried any others or any of the dyes for soft plastics.

  22. You are lucky. They had a seniors lifetime license here years ago. Then they went to a yearly license for seniors and charged $5.00 for it. Now it has gone up to $12.00. This includes hunting, deer and turkey permits, and trout stamp. Our license runs from March 1 to February 28/29.
  23. I am thinking about getting the BPS Pro Qualifier 2 spinning reels. I usually don't buy store branded items. I see some info on the baitcasters on here but not the spinning reels. Anybody tried them or know anything about them? I like the fact the are mostly aluminum instead of carbon or graphite. Any info about them good or bad is appreciated.
