I only use reels in the 5:1 or about 20 IPT for any crankbait I throw. I still have a Curado 200B in the 3:8:1 gear ratio. I will use it if I am fishing when the water is still really cold. I have used it in warm weather and caught fish with it.

I would have to take that sucker apart and sand and paint it all one color before I would use it.

I have never run in to any really dangerous snakes in the places I've been. I did find a water snake wrapped around the tilt and trim on my motor one time after I got the boat on the trailer. I took my motor support bracket and knocked it off. I have taken time out from fishing many times to give a snake a hollow point headache.

This would be a wild guess. We had a state record bass over 14 pounds caught here a few months ago. It was caught out of a lake of less than five acres. You could only fish from the bank as there were no boat ramps.

I have several 1/2 ounce War Eagle spinnerbaits in standard and Screaming Eagle sizes. I hardly ever throw one anymore but I should. I have caught fish on them the last few times I used them. Years ago spinnerbaits were my go to baits until I got in to using soft plastics so much. I would rather throw a spinnerbait than a chatterbait.

Depending on which trolling motor you are getting you should be able to remove the old trolling motor from the mounting bracket and lay the new one in it. I replaced mine a few years ago but I needed a new mounting bracket. I removed the screws holding the panel in where the TM plugs in and the tilt and trim switch is. I had to tape a 1/2" wrench to a long metal rod to reach in there to get to the nuts. while my wife turned the bolts from the top side. They sometimes mount them with rubber sleves with the nuts in side them. If this is what you have you may have figure out a way to cut the bolts or drill them out. Hope this helps and good luck.

I would also have to go with a 6'6" rod. I also use several 6' rods. 6'6" are the longest rods I own.

Like several others I use tiny pieces of tubing over the bend to keep line from sliding. I know a guy that said he cuts his tubing at least an inch long. He puts it on the line, ties on the spinnerbait and brings it back down over the bend. He says this gives the line some protection from abrasions. I have not tried this yet but I might.

I believe it would catch fish. I would fish it as a Texas rig with the two long arms out behind the bend of hook. It might work as a jig trailer depending on the length of it.

I usually start with moving baits. I switch to a Trig when the bite dies on moving baits. I will throw a Trig in places it is not good for crankbaits. I always have at least one rod set up with a Trig anytime I'm fishing.

I like to spend time working cover and working it most of the way back to the boat. There have been times I found out the fish were holding further off the bank than normal like this. I have caught fish reeling the bait back in.

Welcome to the club. I to have never had a drink. I have seen it ruin to many people. I don't even want to be around people that are drinking.

If you look at the top of the Bass Resource pages you will see a block marked tools. In that it has a free fishing log with boxes for lots of info. I have never kept a fishing log but I probably should.

Thanks for the tip. Never thought about doing that. I use about a 12" leader on the main line and about 18" one the one that slides on the main line.

I am using the Super Flukes and throwing them on a spinning rod. The one on the swivel that slides on the main line will not cast as far as the one tied to the swivel on the main line. That is why the need for a little bit of weight to get it out there with the other one.

I have used the double fluke rig a few times and never caught a fish with it. I had to use a 1/16 ounce bullet weight on the one that was sliding on the main line to get it to cast good. Hope your luck is better than mine.
