  1. I use a lot of the Zoom soft plastics like @thinkingredneck. Worms: Ol Monster, Trick Worms, U tale, Finesse Worms, Grubs Creature Bait: Baby Brush Hog. Craws: Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw, Berkley Crazy Legs Chigger Craw. Stick Baits: Senkos, BPS Stick O Jigs: Football Head - Black and Blue or PB&J Hard Baits: Norman, Bandit, 6th Sense I don't use any frogs. I use various top waters once in a while and spinnerbaits and chatterbaits some but not as much as I should.
  2. I can agree with @Shimano_1. I haven't gotten to fish a lot this year due to lots of rain and life things happening. When I have been nothing has worked that should be working. Nobody wants to hear about what few little fish I have caught so far this year.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
  4. This has nothing to do with the handle. Since you are new to using a spinning reel I will tell you to close the bail by hand after you make a cast. This will help stop problems with line twist. Also when replacing the line fill it to about 1/8" below the top of the spool to avoid over filling it.
  5. You can cut some off and use them. It won't make them tear up any faster. I personally would rather use a 2/0 hook on a 4" Sticko. I think the 1/0 is too short.
  6. It depends on where I am fishing and how long I think I will fish. I usually have 4 baitcasters and 2 spinning rods with me. If I can get a good bite going I may only use 2 or 3 baits. If I am struggling to catch fish I may use 10 or more baits. I really like the days I don't have to use every setup I have with me.
  7. I use the 1/0 Skip gap hooks for Zoom Fat Albert Grubs. They also work for tubes 3.5 to 4" in length when Texas rigging. I have some 4" BPS Stick Os and I use a 2/0 size for them.
  8. I haven't been able to fish much so far this year and used worms very little. I am in the same shape as @scaleface and @Choporoz. I have way too many soft plastics I try to use up. I don't have anybody to give them to and I don't feel good about giving something to someone I don't have a lot of confidence in.
  9. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  10. I have never had the type of problem you are describing with lead sinkers. Before I use any lead sinker I take an ice pick or similar sharp pointed instrument and open up the ends and round them out before I use it.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
  12. I have never been caught without a license. I did go fishing one time and had forgotten to get my new license. I got it as soon as possible after that. I have been checked many times and never had a problem.
  13. I guess he never blew a cylinder out of an out board motor either. I have done that.
  14. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  15. I also leave my tackle box open to let everything dry out. Anything I use on a fishing trip I put in a separate Plano Hydro Flow box and let those baits dry out before putting them back in the tackle box.
  16. My brother and I both had one of the Shannon Twin Spins. He did catch a few with his. I never caught one on mine. I finally took it out of my tackle box. We both had them with a yellowish colored skirts on them. I may still have mine somewhere in an old tackle box. Good luck with yours if you use them.
  17. I have several Lucky Craft pointers in various colors in the 78 and 100 size that do pretty good. I also use some Rapala Husky Jerks.
  18. Glad you really like it and will work out okay for you. Catch one for me out of it.
  19. I have been using Interstate batteries. The trolling motor battery is a group 27 size since I don't have room for anything bigger. This makes the fifth year for these batteries and they are still doing okay.
  20. I use Sufix Siege in 12# on my baitcasters and 10# on spinning rods. It has handled really well for me and has great abrasion resistance. I have not had any problems with it at all. I have not tried that many different mono lines. Once I find something I like I stay with it. Everybody has their own opinion as to what is their favorite and why. There is no clear cut answer as to which one is the best.
  21. Hello and welcome to the forum. I use the Lews Tournament MB and they have been good reels. I have seen them clearance priced on some websites so Lews is probably bringing out something new at ICAST to replace it. I will say the magnetic brakes on mine don't feel like they are doing anything so I leave them turned off.
  22. Congratulations on your retirement. Be glad you could retire while your still in good enough shape to get out and do what you want to. Hope you enjoy it.
