I don't care for the red hooks. Tried them and couldn't tell they were getting me any more bites. I have bought crankbaits with red hooks on them and changed them out before I used it. If you are using the right bait the fish will usually nail it at the front hook anyway. I think red hooks were something created to get people to spend more money.

One thing to think about is the hook up. Will it be hooked to a battery direct or is there a plug for the trolling motor and then wiring going to the battery? A boat that size you would need for it to be a 12 volt motor. Any thing else would require two or more batteries.

My problem is I can feel the bite set the hook only to end up being hung up. That has happened to me many times.

You should have seen the pictures and news reports on tv last year when a Krispy Kreme truck caught on fire here. The poor cops were crying their eyes out.

We have a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. It has had a couple of problems I don't think it should have had. It is still better than a piece of GM garbage I traded in to get rid of it.

I can't help you with the drag problem. To help the casting I would take the non handle side plate off. Take out the spool and take a rag and and wipe off the edges of the spool and the areas the spool edges are next to in the reel. This will get rid of any excess oil in these areas and improve your casting distance.

Try to find out if there is someone in your area that is an authorized Motorguide center. I had to get parts for mine the same way last year. I think I got the same parts you are looking for. They were used but they still worked.

It would be okay. I'm sure you would get a lot of different responses. The places some people love might be hated by others. Bassmaster already puts out a list of the top 100 Bass lakes based on tournament results.

Welcome to the forum. The place I was going to isn't my favorite fishing place but is a short drive to get to. I have fished it quite a bit. I don't believe they have a list of places to fish on here. You need to start a new thread letting people know where you are and what part of the country you would like to fish. There are many members on here that will help you out and let you know where to fish.

Thanks for the info. I did use a weightless fluke stick for a while with no luck. I wasn't confident a topwater bait would work since I had not seen any topwater activity. The sun was out all day with clear blue skies. Water temp was around 76*. If I get desperate enough to go back up there I will keep these ideas in mind. I will try to stick with places I am more familiar with if I can.

I have used them on baitcasters and spinning rods. If using a baitcaster it will be on 12# floro with usually an 1/8OZ pegged sinker. On spinning gear it will be on 10# mono with a 1/16OZ pegged sinker. I have never used braid on any of my setups. I may need to try braid or use heavier sinkers. I probably need to buy some new tubes as the ones I have are pretty old.

I am no jig expert but I like a Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw or a Twin Tail Grub for a trailer.

I definitely don't know too much about fishing. I couldn't find an answer that day. I am not used to fishing water that clear or fishing that much vegetation. Any crankbait would have been a nightmare to fish. I used a Manns 1Minus up there before and it was catching junk. I tried several things I thought would work that didn't but nothing works every time. I just didn't think about using something for punching since it is something I very rarely have to do.

I just watched Glens video about tube fishing and the one about Texas rigging a tube. On the rare times I fish a tube I normally rig them on a 2/0 Gama EWG hook with an 1/8OZ sinker. Usually a tube falls in a spiral and creates a lot of line twist. I use a barrel swivel and a leader to stop this problem. Is there a way to Texas rig a tube so it doesn't create a lot line twist problems?

Any time free donut day or any day free food is involved or local news people won't tell you about it till that night. They don't want everybody else getting in there way getting to the free food.

We are under a flood watch here until Monday. The water levels will be so up and muddy it won't be worth fishing for several days.

The problem here is I didn't have any frogs with me. I bought some years ago and never caught anything on them. I took them out of the boat and put them away. I even thought about throwing them away. I thought about using a buzzbait but the vegetation was pretty thick in some places even on top. I guess I could have thrown around the edges of it.

I didn't use a Senko there. I used a Trick Worm with a 1/16oz sinker. All of our bites came out away from the docks and on smaller baits. The docks with people on them we passed on by so as not to bother them. I am just not used to fishing water that clear and with that much vegetation. I try to avoid fishing heavy vegetation if I can. I hate having to pick all the junk off my baits. I got more bites around the dam area where it had deeper water. Maybe some day I will learn how to fish these type places.

For football jigs I use a Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw or a Twin Tail Grub. For finesse jigs I use a Zoom Swimming Chunk.

The wife and I went fishing yesterday. The place I wanted to fish was closed and blocked off with no access to the water. I drove about 25 miles to a lake I had not fished in about 10 years. I had only fished it twice about 10 years ago and didn't have much luck then. It is a small lake about 114 acres with houses and boat docks around it. The water was really clear with about 4' or 5' of visibility. There is so much vegetation under the water soft plastics was all we would use. The only moving bait I tried was a soft plastic swim bait. Had very few bites. She finally caught a nice bass about 18" on a centipede. I still hate that lake. I am glad she got one since this was her first fishing trip in about 3 years.

Congratulations. If you are really lucky after she graduates from college she will get a really good job making lots of money to support you in your old age.
