  1. Hello and welcome back to the forum.
  2. Went out harassing the green fish yesterday. Managed to catch three. All small and nothing to write home about. Caught the first one on a Berkley Choppo. First time I had ever used it and wanted to see what all the hoopla was about with this type bait. I can't ever remember my first bass of the year coming on a topwater bait before. Caught the second one on a Zoom lizard. This was odd because I rarely use lizards. Got the third one a 6th Sense Crush 50 squarebill. This is the first fish I have caught on a 6th Sense lure. The first two were around 12" and the third one around 14". I guess I am the last one on here to catch a fish this year but better late than never.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for your service.
  4. Many years ago my brother and I were fishing the river. Some guys came by in a boat just riding around first passing in in one direction and then coming back past us again. Every time we moved to another spot they would show up doing the same thing again. We moved and fished several different spots and finally got away from them. When it was getting dark we headed back to the boat ramp. We come to a spot several miles upriver from the ramp and there they sat on the bank broke down. That is where we left them sitting to get back the best way they could.
  5. The stones are real. I have some I cut out of some years ago. There is one bank we would fish out of aluminum boats. If the wind was calm and you drifted along not using the trolling motor much they would stay with us under the boat making there noise with those stones against the bottom of the boat for a long distance down that bank.
  6. Hello and welcome to the forum and thank you for your service. Spending time on the water will help you get better and have better luck with all of those techniques you are using. There is also a ton of info in videos here on this website to help you.
  7. Around $16.00 for Lucky Craft suspending jerkbaits. I have several of them in various colors and sizes. I have lost one of them but I finally replaced it. I got most of mine with gift cards. I won't spend any more than this for lures. I try to get mine for $10.00 or less now.
  8. I usually use the Baby Brush Hog on a T rig.Have caught a lot of fish on it. About the only time I use a Brush Hog is in murkier water. Have not caught that many on it. Mine are always T rigged. I haven't used a C rig in years.
  9. I looked up this lake on the fish and wildlife website. It did not give the size of the lake but it is very small. Looking at the picture and the info it does not have a boat ramp. It is for bank fishing only. You never know where the big one can come from.
  10. I could have gone on just fine without seeing that picture. Images like that are what causes nightmares.
  11. After reading all these posts I wondered if it was safe to post this. As much as I love peanut butter and PB&J sandwiches I must say this. I have never tried a peanut butter and banana sandwich. I hope I haven't sent too many people in to a state of shock.
  12. You might check with a local tackle shop to see what they recommend and see if they have any good used equipment for sale. We have a local tackle shop that takes in and sells a lot of used equipment for people.
  13. Welcome to the forum. I have an old Shimano rod from the late 70s or early 80s that has an EVA grip. It is a 5'6" rod with a pistol grip.
  14. You are not weird. More than likely going senile. You haven't totally lost it if you still like pb&j sandwiches. It also has to be Jif peanut butter.
  15. I have to agree with @MN Fisher. Peanut Butter one one slice of bread and grape jelly on the other one. Peanut Butter is one the four major food groups as far as I'm concerned. Beef, Pizza, and dessert are the other three.
  16. The younger the cashiers are at restaurants and stores and they give you the senior citizens discount whether you qualify or not. I had this happen to me several times.
  17. You might see if you and the seller can get together and take it out one time. The seller can show you how everything works and make sure everything is okay with it.
  18. What you are referring to is propane gas if they are using a tank. Propane is always a lot higher than natural gas.
  19. Happy Easter everyone.
  20. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  21. I have been surprised at the times I caught fish on a Texas rig on the rare occasions haha I got a birds nest in my reel and had to pick it out. Just leaving the bait alone has caught fish several times for me. As for fishing fast in hot weather forget it. I fish one lake that has had water temps of 90+ degrees. When it gets that hot you won't get any bites up here. I doesn't matter what you are throwing.
  22. Around her the general thinking is to use silver blades in fairly clear water, gold in stained water, and painted blades in really dirty water. This time of year I like a short arm spinnerbait with a single Colorado blade on it.
  23. I use barrel swivels all the time on my spinning rods just to help stop problems with line twist. I use about a 2' leader then tie on my hook and soft plastic.
  24. Like many others have said natural gas is cleaner and safer than oil burners. I have natural gas furnace and water heater. In case of a power outage we still have hot water and I can run my generator to run the furnace and some lights. I have done this twice when we lost power for a week each time due to ice storms.
