Major Pfleuger Pres XT reel failure at worst possible time
Four months after my first e-mail - with two others and a post on their FB page between, I finally got an answer to my question about their casting reels. Four Freaking Months to get an answer to a simple question. I love my Pfluegers - but since PF took them over, the customer service has gone the way of the Dodo.

From what I remember when I posted a link - that first one was 'escorted from the premises'.

Joining the 'real' boat crowd
The original bow cap and stern caps have 'holes' in them (grab handles), I'm just tying the dock lines to those...look back at 6/19's post and you'll see the starboard stern cap with the grab hole.

Night fishing during the Dog Days of Summer
Oh, the skeeters are still a problem at night - more so than during the day. That's my experience anyway when having a cigarette - I don't smoke in the house, wife is asthmatic. Daytime cigs, a few bugs here and there...after sunset and especially after dusk - I almost become the daily buffet with the smoke mostly keeping them at bay.

Water treatment plant
Federal Law (Clean Water Act 1972 with Ammendments) There's a limit to how much pollutants a treatment plant may discharge into the waters. I wouldn't drink it, but it's safe enough for fishing - though limit your intake.

Joining the 'real' boat crowd
Part of the pre-launch checklist...put the plug in, close the livewell valve (that'll be explained in the vid)

Joining the 'real' boat crowd
So far I'm leaning towards 'Bass Trek' Can put that on the stern, split by the motor.

Joining the 'real' boat crowd
Just a little paint touch-up, install the starting battery in the stern (going tomorrow morning to buy it)...and d**n - she's done. Yes, I'll be doing a vid giving a 'sales pitch' type overview of the features I've put into this beast. Still looking at Monday for it's first outing. Anyone got an idea for a name? (I'm a trekkie, so something that relates to that would be cool)

- Is this spinning set up any good?
Hug him - that's a great little finesse rig for the money right there.- The latest sale thread
Anyone looking to stock up on Sufix 832 - Fleet Farm has it on sale through the 25th for $12.99 a spool. Also, free shipping on Sufix line everyday...no minimum purchase. https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/product/0000000239261?utm_source=weeklyad&utm_campaign=C22251- Small boat battery setup
I'm running a pair of Mighty Max AGMs in the F-9 - a 35ah for the 'house' battery and a 100ah for the TM. What you pictured is Gel batteries...go with the AGMs instead of the Gels. Also, make sure the charger you have is AGM compatible - standard chargers that you'd get for wet-cells are not. Based on reviews (not just Amazon), Mighty Max is a good brand with good support - one of the reasons I went with those.- Joining the 'real' boat crowd
Planned on it - looking at Sunday to roll it out and shoot the vid. Never been an AC/DC fan - this is gonna be track one for the maiden voyage. FWIW: WT is coming to Minneapolis in October...I already got my ticket.- Clear Coating Your Lures
Yep - they look like they're prey that escaped being eaten...barely - and those are the ones that get targeted more because the 'skin of their teeth' escapees are usually slower and less nimble...easier prey.- Jerkbaits in the summer time?
Considering the peace-of-mind it gives me, it's worth the money - even on my limited budget.- Deeper start
I would go with the Garmin Castable - currently on sale at BPS/Cabelas for $100- Line for my spinning setup
The Tatsu will work just fine.- How important is rod weight to you?
I'd love to buy that stuff - problem is, my wallet would roll over and die before I got one rig purchased. (having nothing but SS is a drag.)- Jerkbaits in the summer time?
Looks like a walleye to me, man.- World's Largest Freshwater Fish
There are species of stingrays that are fresh water based. Most of them are small, and aquarium owners buy them. But some can grow to impressive size.- Tackle warehouse scam
Using a VPN will help as well. I've always got my VPN up...- What should I use each of my rods for
I've been using it for years, and other than pike-teeth it hasn't let me down. I like the fact that it seems to be neutrally buoyant - mono floats, FC sinks, YZH likes to 'stay put - so it doesn't seem to affect the tracking of my cranks in any way.- Jerkbaits in the summer time?
Keep those ideas coming, man - tentative schedule for the F-9 is to launch on Monday the 27th. LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY!!!- Tackle warehouse scam
Same with mine - they treat it like a credit card in such cases. - Is this spinning set up any good?
