  1. What did you do to the poor Lund? What did it ever do to you to deserve it?
  2. Considering how often it still gets things wrong...I'll stick to tried and true methods of research. (Anyone remember the old Magazine Reference Index?)
  3. I personally use heat shrink butt-splices for all my wire-to-wire marine connections. Available at Home Depot - pink is 18-22 gauge Each stripped wire goes halfway in, crimp them down, then apply heat to shrink down the ends to seal it.
  4. Best investment I made for my 25hp Evinrude was a copy of the Shop Manual. It's like a Chilton's for boat motors.
  5. Through the 26th, Omnia has a 20% off site-wide sale going on for 'End of Summer' Code is CATCH20 Normal exclusions (Megabass, Shimano, Daiwa, St Croix, etc) apply
  6. I tried several different monos before settling on Sufix Seige YZH is a great alternative, although it's a true hybrid - mono and FC mixed together rather than just mono with a FC coating like most 'hybrids'.
  7. Ask your DNR what species are in the lake....anything from shad to sunnies to small pike and even young bass are targeted by larger bass - not to mention crayfish....they'll eat practically anything.
  8. ^ Depends too on the make/model. If it's an import, look to the tariffs for the cost increase in parts/materials. 90% of the anti-freeze sold in the US is imported from places like Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Germany and Belgium.
  9. Some of us don't enjoy sleeping on the couch...
  10. Those are round-nose....Mini-Mags are jacketed hollow points.
  11. Not quite that many through my .22's - mainly cause I used CCI Mini-Mags for hunting.
  12. Plano 8616 'Hip Roof'. They still make it, you can still buy one, but I got mine back in the 80s and sold it a couple years ago to a member here who collects old boxes. I've also got a couple old Plano 6203's (3 tray) hanging about that I use for tool boxes...both are 40+ years old.
  13. Keeping your mom in my thoughts, buddy.
  14. Keep it in the shade as much as possible....otherwise a few cubes of ice every now and then.
  15. If I'm heading out with minnows - this is what I have. Fits a standard 5 gallon pail. Battery powered, will run the aerator for 6-8 hours at least.
  16. Heat in the line is dangerous...it's the source of many boat fires. The more resistant a length of wire is, the more the power dissipates into heat...and that's the source of voltage drop. Won't damage the TM, but will be a source of concern. I'd run the largest diameter wire possible...if it suggests 2 gauge, then get 2 gauge. If it suggests 6 gauge...I'd run 4 gauge. Yes, joining the larger main run to the smaller receptacle wire is not an issue, just make sure to use connectors that are rated for that joining.
  17. Yes, it's trustworthy. Google "xxxxx yen to dollar" - example, the 264ML+..."36105 yen to dollar" comes to $244.33
  18. Ergo: Daiwa Kage....the Platinum is just relabeled for sale by BPS Me, given my budget - Shimano Miravel for spinning, Daiwa Tatula 100 for casting. They've been rock solid.
  19. Speak for yourself - being on a fixed income, $300 is WAY over my budget for a reel. Most I've paid for a reel is $130 for a JDM Tatula 100 and that was after a bit of hemming and hawing. Given the way tariffs are going, I'm gonna be priced out of replenishing stock or getting anything new.
  20. Finished my chemo-run about 5 weeks ago, went through one round of immuno-therapy so far...that'll go on for a year. Brain spot disappeared, so nothing more for that. Adrenal spots are so small as to be irrelevant, Doc says the immuno-therapy might take care of them. Lung area has reduced by almost 60% and next week I go in for ten days (5, break for the weekend, 5 more) of targeted radiation. Then another CT/PET scan to see how that worked. My hemoglobin dropped to 6.9 one time, got a whole-blood transfusion...then a few weeks later it was 7.0, so a second transfusion. Breathing seems to be slowly getting better, I'm not getting as winded just walking around. After almost 2 months, went shore fishing yesterday....taking the two eldest (not-legally adopted) grand-daughters with me...and of course the only fish caught was by the eldest - just my luck. Hope things get better for you, man. Keeping you in my thoughts...as well as Dwight. Us 'invaded' guys gotta stick together.
  21. Hank was like one of us....this is just a mood-killer, Jeremy.
  22. There's the post from John we've been waiting for.
  23. Bank fishing - cast it out, make the line semi-taunt. Your natural inability to remain perfectly still gives it enough action. Wait a bit, drag or hop it a foot or so....rinse and repeat back to shore.
  24. Never tried BPS - so no clue I picked up a couple spools of Basix....spooled up, did some tests...unspooled it and relegated it to leader only. InvizX is my main go-to - Tatsu when I can afford it.
