  1. Happy 61st B-Day @A-Jay - just remember, I'm only a few months behind you.
  2. Happy B-Day, youngin' ? Sounds like a good day all around.
  3. Your choice - I'm just giving a heads up in case of something like a broken rod due to defect.
  4. Just be warned - if the rod is still under warranty and the shop is not an authorized Diawa repair site, your warranty will be voided and any normally covered issues will be denied.
  5. Why is anything to do with sex 'forbidden', but games and mentions of death and violence so accepted? It's totally bass-ackwards in my mind. Saying that, I think the names RI came up with are funny.
  6. Oh, what could it be?
  7. Told this to the wife and she asked, "Is there something beyond the Darwin Award...because these people would earn it."
  8. Couple on Minnetonka Bay Rentals in Mound close to Surfside launch - they have double (two person) kayaks - http://bayrentalsmn.com/our-rentals Tommy's Tonka Trolley in Excelsior right on the water - canoes and kayaks - http://www.tonkatrolley.com/rentals.html
  9. Look down a little further - I've rarely gone below 50%.
  10. I looked a little deeper - even if it's a private pond, you still need to apply. "Why do I need a fish stocking permit to stock fish in my own pond? WDFW is trying to protect our native and important non-native fish species. The spread of stocked fish species can have a detrimental impact through predation or competition. Additionally, stocked fish species coming from commercial or wild sources may carry disease agents to waters that currently do not have them. By requiring a Fish Stocking Permit, WDFW biologists are able to look at these possibilities and make determinations on the risk to fish in the waters intended for stocking and any nearby state waters." https://wdfw.wa.gov/licenses/fishing/fish-stocking-transport#
  11. These are also stainless steel - have a pair clipped to my PFD with a retractable line. Aven model: 10314 electronic pliers.
  12. First - before anything else - check with your state's DNR office. Stocking fish in any public water body falls under their jurisprudence and you have to get clearance from them to do this. Some info on stocking Washington waters. https://apps.oria.wa.gov/permithandbook/permitdetail/243
  13. Replace the Aglia with a #3 Comet and I'm there.
  14. It's part of my night-before setup: Plug battery charger in KVD all the non-braid reels Tie on my initial lure selections
  15. Usually 1/3 to 1/2 the line test - for braid, about 2/3 the max drag the reel is rated for
  16. One of the ramps I use on Minnetonka is this way - no dock, but there is dirt with grass either side...so I just beach the canoe. I've even seen guys beach their 20' Lunds when launching there. If it's a rocky shore...umm...bring a friend?
  17. Wellll - I didn't get skunked anyway. They were a hard bite for me today - tried just about everything and caught this 1.24# on a 3/8oz Green Pumpkin swim jig with a Green Haze Pit Boss trailer along the weedline in about 12' of water. That was the only one of the day.
  18. If it's not the roller - I'd check the guides on the rod, might have a nick. Take a Q-Tip and run it around the inside of the guides, the 'fluff' of the Q-Tip will hang up on a nick. More often than not, fraying line is a rod issue, not a reel issue.
  19. I haven't launched at Grays - this was North Arm...day in question, that barge wasn't there (pic was from Google Earth, and I added the circles and text via Paint Shop Pro)
  20. Seen this done last time I took the canoe out. Moron tied his boat up at the foot of the ramp - while there's lots of tie-up length running perpendicular to it - see the annotated pic
  21. Or just trade me for my truck 2001 Silverado, 5.3, 4x4, towing package - rated to 11,000lbs I'm towing a canoe that all total with trailer and everything is under 400lbs.
  22. Make sure it's plugged in completely on the back of the unit - getting the plug set in the socket is sometimes a bit of a pain...it's tight and takes a bit of force. Experience from my Hook2-4...
  23. One thing to note: The dry weight does NOT include motor, fuel in the tank, water in the livewells, gear stowed on-board or the trailer. Example: A 20' Lund Pro-V has a dry weight of 1850#, but a towing weight of 3300# - https://www.lundboats.com/boat-models/2075-pro-v-bass/ And towing something close to your capacity isn't the main issue - even a Geo Metro could eventually get it going - it's the stopping that you have to worry about.
