  1. Real Estate market has ballooned beyond belief here since Covid and since working at home has limited travel so people from the city are migrating here. Currently there's very limited houses available and if one gets listed, it's gone. Hang in there ?
  2. If you have the patience to throw it year around, you'll catch fish. I have to power fish to get it out of my system but Wacky is a producer in the very clear water I fish.
  3. Not the norm, but caught my PB during midday in hot August with bluebird skies. I don't quit fishing just because the sun is straight up but do look for shade or deeper cover. Fishing success may slow some but doesn't stop.
  4. Unfortunately, I have the exact same reel, same handle. The good news is, I've set it up for the wife to pan fish with and don't think she's strong enough to break the handle. Now, must admit, have had the same thing happen on a reel while fighting fish and never gave that manufacturer a 2nd look since. Really no need to mention that manufacturer this many years later but a legendary fisherman was sponsored by them. ?
  5. Willing to change and experiment trumps what we think we know. Last week was throwing a 3" Keitech swimbait in clear water, it's been working. The fish followed but simply wouldn't commit. Threw a fluke in the same color and miraculously triggered their predator instinct.....the darting. Bass are weird. Lol
  6. The skunk threads. Lol These are the people I can relate to...... being humble and honest and trying to learn and get better. Mobasser, you are the official thread starter ?

Every forum I've been apart of from hunting, fishing, Ford trucks etc....... people come and go. Been an avid member of a gun forum since 2004 and logged in a couple days ago, didn't recognize a single member. Several factors, interests change, health, diseased, life in general.
  8. Pretty sure I've posted before on a similar topic. My very 1st full time job was a roofer, shingles. Then on to framing, then to drywall finishing, then to residential electrician. The wife and I built our very 1st house from the ground up back in 1988. That very 1st house we had several roof leaks so maybe I wasn't that great at roofing. Lol
  9. Me too, #2 Neko hook ?
  10. I need to simplify this in my mind so that I can offer simple imput. If my hands move 3 feet to my right on a sweeping hook set using a med action rod, wouldn't straight braid promote a faster hook set by forcing energy down the tip into the backbone of the rod ? Using line that stretches, the line does exactly that on a hook set, stretches. So now on the same sweeping hook set, the rod is spending more time in the tip, it's weakest part. To offset this you'd need a faster, longer sweeping hook set or a stiffer rod. Not ?
  11. Well I'm kinda of a simpleton. The faster a bait moves, the less color matters. Imo
  12. I'm more about having backup techniques rather than a bunch of the same baits, well excluding soft plastics. I have several dozen Jigs and not one is identical to another except 90% are 3/8. Here's the way I look at it. If bass are clobbering a black buzzbait and I lose that bait, they ain't going to get lock jaw on a white one. Lol
  13. Usually don't encounter this in the lakes I fish but on the rare occasion that I do....... not worth letting someone uneducated to simple ediqitte to ruin my day, seriously. Those types simply won't change, nothing you can do. Best to find other water.
  14. Keitech
  15. Sounds like a Karen to me, you'll be in the wrong regardless.
  16. Am I not seeing all the imperfections? Looks like a well kept boat for a 95 regardless of what it is.
  17. Lew's TP would get my vote.

Only time I was in Chicago was for a Cubs game. I was once an AVID baseball fan and felt it absolutely necessary to visit Wrigley field and look up and see the legendary Harry Caray......THAR'S A DRIVE. lol The Cubs were legit then with Dawson and Sandberg and the place was electric.
  19. I've migrated to nothing but swim Jigs and do just that, swim them. Local bait shop carries Outcast Jigs and have been very satisfied.
  20. My youngest daughter ( 23 ) has a smart phone that can identify anything basically by simply taking a photo. She walks around the yard telling me the proper names of every plant and insect........ technology advancements have passed me by.
  21. Well said. I'm thick skin and not sensitive at all so nobody comes across as a jerk. On the flip side, I may at times offend others unbeknownst to me simply because I would not have been offended.......ha ha deep right.
  22. Yes, big hugs. About all my favorite finesse techniques can be done on that outfit.
  23. Straight braid and a med heavy should not have an issue with hook penetration with 3/4 oz. Perhaps your swinging for the fences on your hook set and creating a gaping hole. Or just simply a bad day that creeps up on all of us from time to time. Roughly 3 years ago I lost 3 good fish in a row on a Spinnerbait and I rarely ever lose a fish on a Spinnerbait, it happens.
  24. It doesn't count, it was hooked on outside of mouth.......foul. ?
