Flashback mini trailers...
So I've never seen a chatterbait flashback mini in person so I have no perspective on size. I'm thinking of picking a few up as they look like a good crossover bait for bass and large crappie. Guess I'm wondering what your preferred trailers are? Would the baby rage menace or baby zman goat fit nicely or are they too large?

Ill agree with this. I fund the flavor of catfish to be good but the texture is kinda mushy\gritty. What I've found helps its cut it into small strips..more surface area for breading=more crunchy texture. I know other guys on here bash you for eating white bass but I honestly think they are good. Not on the perch\bluegill\walleye level but good nonetheless. I'd eat them more often but not a great population around me. I know we are separated by half the country but I feel like we may be brothers.

Lets settle this once and for all. Whats the greatest western movie ever made?
It is absolutely a western and so is hell or high water. Both are films that take place in or around the desert and they revolve around people taking money that doesn't belong to them and get hunted down. My vote doesn't change.

The True Cast: Is fly-fishing an “elitist” pursuit?
One of my best buddies is a big time fly fisherman...he's on the board for one of our local outdoor magazines plus he organizes several fly fishing meetings and seminars every spring and summer. I have always been a conventional gear guy and have fly fished maybe a dozen times in my life. There is no bashing from either side relating to gear...just friendly ribbing about getting out fished as buddies do. Around here the only elitists are the walleye crowds...they sit in their ivory towers and look down there noses at us scrub peasants chasing bass and panfish. Get them out of their trolling comfort zone and they can't find their own a#$ with two hands and a flashlight.

G&T, crappy MTV and winter storms
I've heard anywhere between 9 and 12 inches. Started last night around 7 and was done when I got up at 530ish.

Fist fights...
My good buddy Todd is a county Sheriff's deputy and he is a very calm, laid back guy. He also runs into those knotheads that feel they need to test him from time to time.

G&T, crappy MTV and winter storms
So far its going good. Been staying consistent on my quest of getting healthy. Eating better and working out 5 nights a week or so..that's helping me stay focused and beat down the winter blues.

G&T, crappy MTV and winter storms
So I'm sitting in my living room...snow coming down wind howling...drinking gin and tonics(for sanity sake) and watching the real world road rules challenge with my girlfriend. We are only halfway thru winter and my inner Jack Torrance is poking his head around the corner. This is the exact reason I don't own an axe.

How did you learn to fillet?
Have a buddy just like that. Wants to keep fish but he's to lazy to clean them. If I clean a bunch he's like hey if you have to many ill take a bag. Jerk.

Looks pretty yummy. I went out ice fishing a private pond today with a buddy and between us we caught probably 50 yellow perch between 9.5 and 12 inches. Kept 5 of them to fry up for breakfast tomorrow. P.S. cutting board looks fine to me

Fist fights...
When I was about 10 my dad bought me a pair of boxing gloves. He and my grandpa who boxed in the army taught me how to take care of myself.

Fist fights...
So this topic got brought up at work recently for some reason. Like many of you I had some scraps back in my younger years...but I'm closing in on 40 and when asked the other day couldn't even remember the last time I cracked somebody. I'm in no way condoning violence, but the reality is it happens. When was the last time you were in an actual fight?

Live bait coolers...
So this year with my focus going more multi species instead of strictly bass I'm planning on doing some live bait fishing. Minnows, chubs, crawfish, crawlers and even leeches will likely be on the line. I'm thinking of picking up a nice aerated bait cooler. Any recommendations?

How did you learn to fillet?
My dad taught me when I was 11...the same year I got my first baitcaster. I actually enjoy using a knife and took to it very quickly. So I've got almost 30 years of filleting under my belt...even took my love of knife work and made a living running the meat department in my local grocery store for 7 or 8 years before moving on to my current gig.

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread

Living with regret......
That's cool. I'm sure if I had kids I may feel that way as well. But I don't so I don't understand.
