Tokyo rig in winter
Work great for me in colder weather. Experiment with the weight for the best for dragging on the bottom. I prefer craws or paddle tails. Good luck ?

Your next boat or kayak purchase
Never had a jet but if weight is that crucial I would look into lithium batteries. I run 4 in my boat and what a difference in weight. That jet will be sweet on the Susq.

Struggling: Keep boat or trade for Kayak
Ask yourself the question, What is it that You don’t like about your boat and if a kayak will solve the problem. Then ask yourself what will you miss about not having the boat. Weigh the two things out and you should arrive with your answer as to what to do. Good luck on your decision.

honest conversation here. fishing rod slipping from your hand, midcast.
It happen years ago and his dad has since passed. But there’s seldom a time goes by that the subject doesn’t come up and we still crack up.

honest conversation here. fishing rod slipping from your hand, midcast.
Never happen to me, but my friends father just got a new fishing chair as a present. So we took him to a quarry to go fishing. He gets his chair all setup around 2 or 3 feet out in the water and cuts loose with his first cast. Well the front legs of the chair must have been sitting on the edge of a big boulder because the chairs front shot straight down along with him. The fishing rod went flying along with his glasses. He comes out of the water spewing a choirs of cuss words. We’re trying not to laugh when his son asks him where’s his teeth. His upper dentures somehow flew out of his mouth into the water with everything else. I laughed so hard along with his son I thought he was going to kill us.

Lake hopatcong
Sounds and looks like a party lake. I do commend you to tackle that lake in a kayak. I’m running a 21’ Skeeter and I hate party lakes
