  2. Yes to minnows as i just started using them again the past 2 months. I also use gulp live minnows. I use ballhead jigs so the hook is exposed and i also catch alot of walleye on the same jig and walleye have bony mouths so i would say i give it a good whiplash. Also catch muskie on the same jig fishing for smallies. Check out the muskie i caught on the ballhead jig fishin for bass. I set the hook pretty hard on it and looks to have caught a soft spot in her mouth. The rod i use is a 7 ft berkley cherrywood med slow tip. I use it because i can cast thoses light jigs and bobbers out pretty far with 30lb braid 832 and snelled 20 lb abrasix leader.
  3. Dont call customer service. Go to the Pure Fishing website and at the bottom of their website you will see a list of things including Warranty Information. Click on that and another page will come up to where you then click on the brand and it will bring you to all the service centers in the usa. You are in california? there are 2 listed for you.

  5. Katie reminds me of Sue Aikens from the tv reality show "Life Below Zero" Sue Aikens
  6. Wife and I went to the small dam on wednesday which was a balmy 65 degrees here in north dakota. I brought left over minnows that i stored in the freezer for a week. To freeze them i put them in a tupperware container and then poured windshield washer solution in to cover them up. The fluid is good to minus 20 so the internals of the fish containng water will freeze but the minnow remains very flexible. Next time i will use cheap potato vodka. I started with hair jigs and small paddletails and caught nothing, wife was allready catching small smallies and walleye on the dead minnows using bobber and 1/8oz ballhead jig. I finally put down the fake lures and went with jigging a ballhead with a dead minnow and caught some smallies. I then went with a bobber and jig and joined the wife in bringing home a very tasty dinner for thursday night and leftovers for friday night.
  7. Ok, i will take your advice and when at the VA in dec i will probably get the shot for shingles. Thank you for your message it was short and informative.
  8. I"m sorry, I thought that was your butt.
  9. The VA offered it to me last year but i refused. I will refuse it again when i get year end physical. I am keeping my body away from all virus injections. So far i have made it on my bodies system to keep me safe and hope it can maintain as i age.
  10. Never put an original methylate color plastic in with other plastics as it will bleed onto the others. I now have pinkish flukes that were originally white.
  11. This frog here is the best. He/she hopped into my zip.lok baggie i had sittin on the ground with some minnows in it. I had a very bad year using my favorite pad crashers as all my best bank/wading fishng lakes were full again after the drought of 2021 the pads just wernt there as past years.
  12. The stocking of fish for the railroad workers pretty kool history. Any railroad workers still around to get a story out of?
  13. 6:00am i am eating breakfast and the MLF was on tv. I watched the pros looking at there screens mounted on the bow and was a bummer to see. I call it cheating. No i dont care who is who or who wins. I do enjoy watching them setting the hook and the lure comes flying back past them with them saying " i missed a big un"
  14. LOL, yeah i knew he was doing the im sorry thing and the shop guys knew i was looking to buy a vacuum as i asked a few days earlier where i can get a vacuum for cheap. I bet his wife chewed is rear end off when he told her what took place with my phone call in the break room to H.R. We never had a problem after that.
  15. Grew up on the border of minnesota- north dakota. We always fished minnesota as we were 50 minutes away and the mystique of the land of 10,000 lakes was the draw. There is a drawback to minnesota and that is they have seasons on bass and minnesotas favorite the walleye. Bass catch and release starts on may 1st and walleye season starts may 15th to keep and eat. North Dakota has no season on bass or walleye and i just started fishing the dakota waters this year. Its a farther drive, 70 minutes for my radius of rivers i go to but it is all highway. I also catch multiple species of fish. I always want to catch smallies but i end up catching walleye, muskie, catfish, bullheads, white bass and panfish all on a smallie lure. I really enjoy this multi type of fishing. I may not buy a non resident minnesota license next year and just stick to the north dakota waters.
  16. Friday we went to scout 2 more small dams on the sheyene river in north dakota. This time we brought live fat head minnows, scheels was out of shiners. Cost was $3.75 for 1/2 a scoop. Wife was bobing with the minnows i was throwing lures of course to start out. I bought some vmc mooneye hair jigs that were on sale, i never used hair jigs before and went below the dam in an eddie and caught a little smallie. I thought for sure i was on the fish but for the next 2 hours nothing. I then went to jigging minnows and using a bobber well below the dam in the eddies and just nothin. Wife caught 8 walleye and it was now pitch black dark and just couldnt see so we decided to go. As she was picking up our things i had a zip lock baggie with some water and minnows on the ground and didnt zip it up. Wife picked up the baggie and asked me if i put a frog inside it. What? no i did not and she brought me the bag and here was a small frog in it. She asked me if i want it and i said no so she tossed it on the ground and then i thought why not try it on my 1/4 oz ball head jig, nothin else has worked for me. So i with my headlamp spot the frog on the ground and i pick it up and lip hook it and toss it out. I am jiggin it in on first cast and whamo it gets hit and i bring in my saturday night dinner. That experience i will never forget.
  17. Wife and i went fishing to a dam we never heard of untill a guy at baldhill dam told me to check it out so we went wednesday. Its a small small dam and we had gulp live minnows and then an old man gave us his live minnows when he left for home. It was 49 degrees and windy and when we left at 8pm it was actually a nice 36. I of course had to try lipless cranks and jerks all the while my wife was catching smallies and walleye. I was still convinced i was going to catch fish on lures so i finally put on a 3/8 oz jig and a 2 1/2" multicolored paddletail and caught 5 walleye. She caught 29 fish, 5 smallies, 3 catfish and 21 walleye. 23 of her fish were on live minnows 6 on gulp live minnow all using an 1/8 oz ballhead jig and bobber. I let her enjoy the live minnows while i kept warm by casting knowing i was missing out on numbers but i call it testing out what works this time of year.
  18. They need to sell advertising time so a good looking set attracts the sheep.
  19. I ate a big pizza tonight and now hate myself.
  20. This was back in 2005 so the woke culture wasnt a thing yet. I started with this company in 2000 out in san francisco. The company was ZZZZ heavy equipment rental and sales. After 5 years in san fran working for them i transferred to another ZZZZ branch in my old stomping ground las vegas. When i was just gettin to know the guys one dude labeled me as a f-g because i transferred from san fran and people think that just because you lived there you must be one. I asked him to stop calling me that but he didnt. One day we were all in the breakroom for lunch and he called me the label again, everyone snickered and i had had enough. I told him right then that you really think its funny huh? well heres something you can laugh at, so i pulled out my phone, sittin right across from him i called human resources out east and had a conversation with the hr lady explaining the situation with this dude. The silence was thick with shock and awe. I finished my call with her and went out to my service truck and went on a call to fix an excavator with a smile on my face. The next morning when i punched in he walked up to me and asked me if i would like to have his old but new house vacuum telling me his wife just bought a new one. He had it with him at the timeclock and i didnt have a vacuum and was going to buy one but i accepted his and after that exchange, with no verbal apology for the label he called me by, he nor anyone else ever called me that label again.
  21. elevator farts are the best when in a highrise going down to ground floor.
  22. When the battery goes bad its gonna be pretty tough takin it out and walking it into Auto Zone.?
  23. I think they do a pretty good job with the science they have to work with and then make projections. When i was working as a mechanic some shops i was at we had to give estimates of the total end cost of the repair and had to stick to it. You never know what other parts may be worn or broken internally untill you take the engine apart completely. Kinda like making projections on what the weather is going to do.
