I don’t know if aluminum or graphite makes a difference. I used to believe it until my Revo x (I know not high quality) aluminum frame snapped on me years ago. Never happened with graphite frame reels I used to use before I cared enough about what reels I had. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Makes you feel taller. LoL i got it for bank fishing so it’s easier to maneuver around the bank but also it’s more accurate than a longer rod. I haven’t kayak fished so I’m not sure if a shorter rod is beneficial or not? I do float tube and I’ve enjoyed the shorter rods on that over the years with my shortest being a 5’10 MH Megabass destroyer Go-Ten. Oh and the blade is also good for topwater walking baits too

I found the Blade to be good for spinnerbaits, blades jigs, squarebills, swim jigs and will do t-rigs as well. It’s shorter rod, 6’8 which might be good for kayak? I like it for the few times I’ve used it from Shore so far.

Hmm… I’ve had terrible hook sets with the kaera frogs. I have 7 and they’re all the same yet my buddy just crushes on them. It’s the only frog I’ve used that I can’t even get hooks in. I’ll try boiling mine then

You boil the Kaera frogs?

Try it out. If you feel it doesn’t work for that style of fishing then you can adapt to see what makes it work or just get a new rod

Nice! What do you mainly use yours for? I have so many reels that I am running out of ideas. LoL I was thinking either frogs or just all around bank beater. Do you find a certain line shines better with them?

Oh yeah. I got this thing recently as well. It’s got some dings but it’s “new” to me. Thinking end of season I might tear it down and paint it up or something. Tore it apart and cleaned it all up inside and it’s very smooth. Just the outside has some battle wounds actually arrived in much better condition than I thought for $100cdn shipped. Who woulda thunk! Just not sure what I intend to use it for.

yup. scum frog launch series and lunkerhunt compact frogs are the best right out of the pack. No adjustments needed at all!

You should try the Compact Frog (not the combat frog) by Lunkerhunt. 100% hook up ratio on that frog for the past 5 years. But yeah try bending those king daddy hooks

No matter how patient I am. My hookup ratio with spro frogs and live target are just terrible everything else is no problems. Actually throw the Jackall kaera in the back hook up mix.

I haven’t. But maybe I should. My hook up ratio in this frog is terrible. I upped my gave and got a steez bullfrog. 1.6oz frog lol Let’s see how this does. Got it mainly for pike and musky.

I’d say just give it a try. If you don’t like it then don’t use it again. I used to use 7’11 and 7’6 rods to frog and then tried 7’ and I found that the 7’3 Heavy was the sweet spot for me. But I’ve tried a lot

Nice nice. I have a usdm Zillion SV 6.3 so I’ll have to do the swap. Glad to hear it’s still working good. The zillion HD is awesome but really too fast for what I want to use it for

Just got these in over the last little bit from the auction sites. Not like I needed more reels. LoL Really enjoying the SLX DC XT as much as my zillion SV’s that I needed another. Others are jdm slx mgl, ‘15 met dc and ‘17 scorpion dc.

How did this turn out? Any issues? I am thinking of putting 6.3 gears in my zillion hd because the 8.1 is too fast for what I want to use it for.
