  1. Too bad the “Project Farm” guy isn’t a fishing fanatic.
  2. I didn’t think his question was unreasonable. We have conversations about buying American vs Chinese etc… I’d say if he was “flyin’ his flag” he was flyin’ it pretty low. That said, I get your point. I’m headin’ over to Midway to look for those reels. Thanks.
  3. Alot of people.
  4. We’re just a bunch of knuckleheads who haven’t yet reach your level.
  5. Good lookin’ dog whatever his DNA.
  6. I'm no Shimano fan, but I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
  7. Shorts, flip flops, and sunscreen seems to work.
  8. Regretfully traded in my 2011 Hyundai in 2020. 160,000 trouble free miles and I'm still trying to figure out why I thought I needed a new vehicle and a monthly car payment. Hyundai was a great choice for me.
  9. I guess I’ll always associate Shimano with bicycle parts. I have more Lews (8 or 9) than any other brand for a reason - they do everything I want a reel to do. Lews all the way.
  10. Omnia has EDGE tackle storage boxes at approx. 20% off until the 20th.
  11. If you crank with your left hand, get a left-handed baitcaster. After 30 years using spinning gear and cranking with my left hand, using a left hand baitcaster was the only way I could adjust to baitcasters.
  12. I bought the 7’1” model last summer hoping to learn to skip lures. Using a Tatula SV, I was able to skip lures accurately and without too many backlashes within a couple days. As a skipping rod it has worked well for me and I’d hardly consider it a broomstick. The rod is good quality and I like the Wynn grip handle. I started in open water just getting the cast angle right to where the bait would skip and went from there. I’m a huge Andy Montgomery fan and took his word for it that this rod would be good for skipping. I wasn’t disappointed and I don’t think you would be either.
  13. I saw Denny Brauer at a Bass Master 3 day seminar back in the ‘90s. I don’t know that he inspired me, but he made a lasting impression and is my all-time favorite.
  14. Ravens players didn’t lose that game.
  15. Sammy put all my spooks in retirement. A game changer for me.
  16. @throttleplate My wife of 30 years is Cebuana. Driving? LOL! A fishing rod is nothing more than a tool for my wife, and she’ll throw a 3” grub on a jighead ‘til her arm falls off, and outfish me regularly. A $100 butcher knife makes a good bolo, and scissors are a multi-tool. You know the deal. Nothing frail about her and couldn’t live without her.
  17. I have 2 Custom Pros I got on sale. Great reels. Very similar to the Custom Lite. 3 Tournament Pros and 2 Team Lews Lite. Love ‘em all, but the Custom Pros are are a cut above.
  18. Yep, we had a cold front. Could just as easily been a warm front. Weather happens and I’m not losin’ sleep over it.
  19. Megabass 110s are my favorite, but not necessary to catch fish. Berkley Stunna and will catch plenty. Just ask Hank Cherry.
  20. I’m a Lew’s fan and have no doubt it’s a great reel, but unless they go on sale for $200 or so, I’ll never own one. To much $$ for me.
  21. I carry everything down to the boat and I do it in one trip. 3 or 4 rods and 6 3700s in my bag. I live on the water, I know what time of the season it is and water clarity, and I’ve fished here for over 20 years. I pretty much determine what I’ll be using before I leave the back porch. I pre-rig 4 rods and usually only use 2 of them for most of the day, and one of them likely has a spinnerbait on the end.
  22. They’re a sack machine today.
  23. What’s better, Amsoil or Royal Purple?
  24. Placed 2 seperate orders. $2.12 ain’t gonna ruin xmas.
  25. Revo SX will work fine. I never had a reel that wouldn’t throw a fluke - weightless or otherwise.
