  1. You should have had fish checked with TWRA. The current TN state record for a Kentucky bass is 6lb 1oz.
  2. @TnRiver46 You bet. Its a great fishery...but like all fisheries...there are days when you just get skunked. The secret is to keep fishing...and keep coming back. Its still early in the year...and the water still on the cool side.( 52 at Center Hill today)
  3. I personally liked a shorter rod for wading...6' and even 5'6"...The river I waded had a lot of overhanging limb.
  4. @KCFinesse Jared...the thread work is off the hook! I recently bought three of those Bushido blanks...CB72/8-15. Havent wrapped any yet...but soon.
  5. Thanks Mick....I may have to try one out for size.
  6. No...I like flippin and pitchin as technique for wood and other cover....and then we have night fishing. Never did really great with a crankbait at night.
  7. ...also love the cork work. What do you think about the AT reel seats you used? Just wondering what this addition is used for...
  8. Oh...yeah...forgot about that
  9. I did the same thing once...kill switch was on the life jacket I didnt bring. I ended up making one out of a plastic coke cap.
  10. My first boat was a BassBandit with stick steering...aka suicide boat. On day on Tims Ford my buddy and I had pulled up along side a private dock (to do something). When we go to leave...I fire up the ol 25hp Evinrude...drop the steering stick down and hit the gas. Well something in the ol noggin forgot that boats don't drive like cars. The back of the boat hits the dock...I go over the port side gunnel (and no kill switch). I was wearing a life jacket and was able to orient myself to push the boat away. My buddy killed the motor, and the day was saved.
  11. I dont think I could even make up something like that...amazing.
  12. @Spankeymention of the river world changing...reminds me of a phenomena I see at Dale Hollow which has 27,700 surface arces and 620 miles of shoreline and its a deep lake. First some terminology: Chemical weathering..a change in the chemical make up of the rocks. Mechanical weathering...the physical breaking of rocks into fragments. Both of these processes are always at work. Its called "weathering" when the rock doesnt move and stays in place. Its called "erosion" when the rocks (or dirt) move...we see lots of this on rivers and creeks. There are at times where I have seen "a wall" of loose rock laying across the mouth of a cut. (A cut is bigger than a ditch and smaller than a hollow).I see this once they start to lower the lake for winter pool. It looks like someone had taken skidsteer and created a burm in front of these cuts. Ive also seen huge beaches of this tiny rock show up out of nowhere. This is cause by the wind and wave action...and it capable of moving this stuff much like current in a river does. You may think its current thats doing this but this lake is huge and is 130 feet deep at places. I fish a lot of places and never see this happen other than at the Hollow.
  13. So...I know this is a little late...but one thing you can (could have) done is use a higher framed guide. Im talking about getting the line in the middle of the guide at 20ish inch mark. Though truthfully I dont think it matters that much...maybe a little.
  14. Like an OG Heddon super spook...in chrome.
  15. Love PMJ and also a Morgan James fan...
  16. ^10 - Judith Blegen is a jewel.
