I have cut the tail off keitech to use them as chatterbait trailer when nothing else available... I feel the tail's action works against the chatterbait's intended motion. by cutting the tail I felt like at least I gave it a larger profile.

He's right.. I'm an active member of this site and I have no idea who he is.. or care.. unless you're a fan use the reel and hopefully you like it and catch some big ones.

I believe that sunglasses are more important as a safety device than anything else. Good quality polycarbonate glasses are a must when fishing.

I think it will depend of the size and type of lake, there are some that I wouldn't .. I keep another paddle inside my kayak just for this.

I'm sure people have caught large fish from worst boats, just go for it!!.. but wear a PFD.
