Any hockey fans?
The presidents trophy seems more like a curse than an achievement. The bruins set all kinds of records which is outstanding. Sadly, when it counted the most they constantly shot themselves in the foot. They never seemed to find their legs. The panthers weren’t the better team on paper. On the ice they were and that’s where it matters.

Fantasy Fishing 2023 - Official Thread
This is my first time ever really following any kind of pro bass stuff. Largely do to this fantasy league. I do not know if it’s like this most years but, the end weight is crazy high. It also makes me feel better when these guys can’t catch a limit of 5 sometimes because so do I some days lol. Now I understand they have to be of legal limit so they may be catching dinks too. Still non the less makes me feel better about my fishing.

Define "Pattern" As It Applies Here
As much as I respect him. Way too much has changed in fishing since 1969. It’s over half a century ago. I think everything is based more on similarities than exact. I would also say people fish the “bite” now.

Define "Pattern" As It Applies Here
To me a pattern is catching multiple fish doing the same thing in similar areas. I haven’t been spending much time on the water this spring due to working so much. I do know the same areas I always fish this time of year have not been working. It seems that is the general consensus of most this spring. People are getting them no doubt but, it’s been off.

Thought I caught a Giant largemouth.
I caught a 32” pure striper was musky fishing. I thought for sure it was a 50” musky the way it was fighting.

Chronic Back Pain
I have back issues from one I raced motocross. It’s actually what caused me to stop. I have to watch how long I sit or lay down as it will be come stiff. At a moments notice it will cause excruciating pain I can barely handle. I won’t be able to walk or stand up straight. It can lasts for months at a time.

left or right reel handle for spinning reel?
I prefer to have the handle on the left for spinning or bait casting. I am right handed and want my strong hand on the rod. I also think I have better feel. Now with my tranx 500 I do not have a choice but to have them on the right.

YEEEEEHAAAAW!!
I know on the susky they are pretty much non existent. Mercs and Yamahas are the go to. Every once a while you see a Honda. I see more inboard jets than I do Suzukis. They do seem to be awesome motors no one has issues with.

Attainable goal for 2023
I want to enjoy fishing more. I put too much pressure on myself to catch a lot of fish and the biggest fish I can. Catch more fish then they guy next to me. Even more pressure when I fished for musky. Which is great to have goals but, I’ve lost sight in just enjoying it all. I’ve always felt like less of a fisherman if I couldn’t go out there and kill it all the time.

Electric outboards, anyone gonna get one?
I think it will be good for some people just like cars are. I’m staying away from any electric power sports or vehicle as long as I can. They do not fit my needs.

Pitching Tips from Jeremy Lawyer - New Video!
Great info! I’ve always felt like if struggled with pitching because of being short. I kind of developed a little side arm twirl. I am generally fairly accurate with it but, still have some casts where I’m like him how did I get there. I am going to try the less line out tactic.

Smallmouth on the Susquehanna river in NY
The DLX model is some minor differences. Nothing performance wise. I am going to be ordering one in July. I don’t personally know anyone who has one but, everyone I have seen with them says they love them.

Do River Smallmouth Spread Out In Low Water Conditions?
There is a hole there from loading boats and protection from The current. I believe there is also some kind of spring in there as well. That’s why a lot of carp get caught there. Even more so in the winter. It’s more of a pebble base right near there as well. When you get closer to the main channel it’s becomes more of the boulders. It makes less water which makes less fish able to be in one area. High water no matter the water temp, all species of fish seem to push into the same areas.

Are there more recent schools of thought suggesting that smallmouth use hours of daylight rather than water temperature to determine when to spawn?
I have talked heard a PA fish biologist day time of year is more important than water temp. When it’s time to spawn it’s time to spawn. Lower water temps can delay by a few weeks he said but not months if there is a colder then normal spring. I think water temp is has been the bench mark for the last 50 years because it’s all we related fishing to. I think with more studies and FFS we have been debunking a lot of “truths”.

Jerkbait Question
My advice is do not get hung up on the brand. Decide the diving depths you want. Decide rattles or no rattles. Decide the size and profile. Each brand and style within that brand have different times and places. Above all of this it’s your pull pause cadence that will get the bite. I know the bait monkey wants your own tackle store in your garage ( I deal with it too) but, learn the ins and outs of the ones you choose to use.

Looking for smallmouth info.
Yeah it’s not looking good. Water temps and water flow is low for this time of year.

So I went to a lake
Yes it is. I don’t like the instant gratification. I like to break it down then end up with a bunch of caught fish. My boat was as confused as I was.

PA Trout Fishing
I can’t comment on the trout side of things I don’t fish for them. I do however think that the fishing has been harder in general due to weather patterns and lack of flow.

Drop-Shot As A Search Bait
I tend to go through a progression. Faster to slower. Unless it’s a weather pattern or time of year that dictates a slower bait. However I’d like to think a ned rig is my bread and butter so at times I use that as a “search bait”.
