Yep. Teens and 20s here at night for the next 2 weeks, minimum. Hopefully we'll get blasted with more snow soon. Anything to refill our springs/waters back up. The drought last year blew up our tried and true patterns. Snow dances during the day, snow prayers before bed.

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

I had an overcast day with air temperature in the low 60’s, water right around 51 and a few trees around the neighborhood and local orchards with flowers starting to pop. First rod I picked up to start off with had a crankbait I tied on as an afterthought. It was the ticket for some dark green bass, the biggest going 3.0lbs that hit right at the boat.

They get bigger than that! My current PB is 8lb 10oz, less than a pound away from the IGFA world record. We'll see if I can inch closer to that record this year....

My wife's gonna need a bigger pan.

Today’s haul. 21.2 lbs best 5 anchored by this short, very stocky 7.4 lb butterball. Jerkbait on all bass (5-7 second pause).

I had no idea, but am richer for the knowledge. AFAIK they haven't made it up the Tennesee River.

I thought about going out for a sesh when it was nice yesterday, but decided to work through the day instead. Might get to go tomorrow. Haven't looked that far ahead yet.

There are tilapia at gallatin steam plant on the Cumberland. Folks were routinely breaking the Tennessee state record for tilapia there for a while

Got one before work this morning on the big bites pumkin craw. This is becoming one of my best baits...

I pulled a swimmin’ fluke along the bank at my property and ...

She was up shallow. I think they are fixing to do their thing... It’s time. They are slow this year due to colder than normal temps.

No shame in it. I still do it a few times every year and will probably do it more with 2 young boys wanting to go with me more and more.

Had some snow in the morning at the house but the weather treated us well for the quick trip to the lake. Just 5 fish in 3 hours with a rare skunk for Pops, and all they seemed interested in was a Neko rig.

This chubby fella had a lot more girth than length. All the fish looked really well fed which I take as a good sign heading into spring.

Rain but warmer. Caught this one on a Rat'l Trap, lost a really nice fish. I've been trying out Yo-Zuri hybrid line, a lot of stretch in that stuff. But I like it.

These are actually from last year. Headed up to MN last spring and shortly after a front the bluebird skies came in and the temp went up 20 degrees. Nothing worse than bluebird skies after a front...right? Needless to say it was an epic two days on this body of water.
