One of my favorite ways to catch em is by burning a spinnerbait. The bite is hard to explain, it’s like running into a wall! This river smallie was a hair over 4#.

Also, my apologies for the awkward moustache! Just experimenting a bit ?

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

She a beauty. But I have to ask about your favorite way to fish burning spinnerbaits with a handle like Finessegenics. ??

To be honest, I have no idea how I came up with the name and why I stuck with it. It’s kinda ugly lol! But I do have a ML rod with a 1/16 oz ballhead and various plastics tied on 75% of the time ?

Nothing special from me, but still some fish. Better than nothing, it's a struggle to go fishing anymore. Got a promotion yay, only 4 days a month off boo. Two tiny bass caught on bass color strike king ocho 5 inch dipped in chartreuse jjs magic, next small bass caught on a duo apex ghost firetiger squarebill, lost a 15-17

One when it came to the surface and did it's beautiful upside down head shake. I knew that was coming when it came to the surface. The last one was caught on a pop r in red eye perch color, not too bad. Well good luck to everyone who is still at it, have a good one.

Get a promotion and have to work more? That seems like the opposite of a promotion to me.

We took a spur of the moment trip that had us crossing most of the rivers in Alabama...but no time to fish. When we got home yesterday my wife asked me run to the store to get some milk. I was itching to fish so I heard, "You have about 30 minutes of daylight left. Do you want to go fishing? Grab a gallon of milk on your way home." ?

I hit a fishing spot "on the way" to the store. I caught a couple on a red bug worm before dark. I did remember to get milk on the way home so all is well. ?

More spinnerbait bass (Accent) on mono from the local reservoir yesterday...and I was able to crop out the holey jeans so I don't offend anyone  Cold front coming through over the next 24 hours should make the bite better once water cools a bit more.

Yesterday we were running 66-67, down from the low 70s the week before. We have had very little cold weather, so we are running above normal for this time of year.

Right on. We have had cold weather here...I'd guess we are mid 50s.

Fair enough. I'm starting a new position on November 1st. Moving up from plant tech 3 to lead plant technician and will be working directly with the day shift supervisors. My current schedule is I work 36 hours one week and 48 the next...12 hour shifts. My new hours will be Mon-Fri 7-330. I will have less overall days off but it will be nice to fish 7 days a week or mow after work instead of getting home at 730. To offset the loss of overtime they also threw some money at me. And they told me my hours are flexible so if I wanna come in early and leave early or work 4 10s sometimes and take a 3 day weekend that's cool. Couldn't really say no to it. Beats having to be there weekends, holidays and 15 hours on shutdowns.

Congratulations, yeah I have heard that a lot of people like the 12 hour shift schedule like that.

I didn't mind it as it gave me alot of days off. But after 8 years of working holidays weekends and 65-75 hour weeks over shutdown it ran its course. I'm thankful to be back to 8 hr shifts.

Congrats to you as well..hope it works out good for you.

I can relate.  I just went back to working weekends only after busting my hump in the ER during the pandemic.

Windy and low 60's ambient today. I'm thinking it might be a good recipe for jerkbaits. I fish a couple of larger ponds where the weeds are down now (mostly from treatment as well as seasonal).

Got out today from 7:30-1.Caught 7 on a spinnerbait, nothing special, but it was some late season punching with a double wide beaver that made the day. It only produced 2 bites but they weighed 3-3 and 6-13.

Can’t wait to see your something special.? good job

I started the season with a broken hand, and now I'm wrapping up the season (hopefully the weather holds out and gives me 2-3 more weeks) with a messed up foot (tendon and/or ligament damage, awaiting MRI). Neither injury did or will stop me from fishing.

My wonderful fiance got me set up along the bank before she went to run errands for a few hours. The poor woman was carrying 2 rods, a tackle bag, and a chair while I crutched alongside her to a spot I would choose to stay immobilized in a chair in and fish.

I caught a dozen~ 12-14 inchers on a mixture of Wacky Rigs, Texas Rigged Culprit Worms, Texas Rigged Senkos, and Vision 110. I managed one good one to make my day. I've caught a handful of 3-4 pounders this month, but this October fish has meant the most considering the circumstances. It hit a 5" Watermelon Red and Black Flake Senko Texas Rigged on a 4/0 EWG with a 1/8oz weight, hopped along bottom.
