Cheetos dust, and fish slime. Either thing by itself means a kid had a good time. You had both at once! That's a double dad win! ?

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Ned rig is a new technique for me this year, so that's awesome to see. I can get numbers on it, but so far nothing over 3lb yet. Inspiring stuff, thanks for posting.

It's one of those things that doesn't seem like it should work, but it just does. It definitely catches small fish, but it also surprisingly seems to also get this big ones interested as well. Good luck!

Awesome fish! Hopefully not the last biggie of the year for you, man.

I got out and hit the ponds tonight, too. Went to the same pond I got my PB in last week, bite was far less active after the cold snap we had over the weekend, but managed a few fish. Five bass, three tilapia, and a surprise 12.5" crappie that almost came home as dinner. Ended up getting a 22" 6lb 11oz bass on the very last cast. She thumped the lipless hard but I thought she was another tilapia at first until she jumped. Took me ~25 yards down the bank before I could land her.

No dock no problem.  Apparently the miDNR must have started pulling the docks for the local launches.  We can still use the launches but, we don’t get a dock.  Launching is usually dry, loading up though we might get a little wet.

fished little crystal in Montcalm county mi.  Kvd 300 in sugar daddy ( perch)  did most of the work.  Biggest came on a Berkley champ swimmer perch. Also caught 2 pike and a 10 inch perch.  Luckily that first pike

Kinda missed or else I’d probably have lost that kvd, Ended up booking him under the mouth

may have been the last trip. The rifle   Deer season opens next Monday on the 15th.

Yup, I saw them last week pulling the dock out of the Grand River launch just south of Rockford.

Have you fished Crystal often? I’ve heard there are decent walleye in there. I’ve yet to see a smallmouth but I still have hope there are some in there.

Naw doesn't seem like it. I should mention that my Dad got me the pair of them for hunting but I have used them for fishing before also. He said he got them at Cabelas but that they are no longer being made. I was in a tree stand long, long before fishing.

Nice work! The Lund is sleeping, but the old town is a cold blooded queen always ready for the call to service.

I use them for both hunting and fishing when it gets colder.  Perfect for days like today when you have to get in the water

I’ve fished in three times.  Twice in the last 3 weeks.  Yeah its known as a good walleye lake. Apparently a lot of pike as those 2 were about 6 and 7 I’ve pulled out of it .

I have yet to catch a smallie out of it but, I’ve got a good idea on where they might be for next year.

it’s a good bass lake but, I know it gets a lot pressure both from bass, walleye guys and recreation traffic in the summer.

Yup the recreational traffic is crazy which is why my time has been limited out there. Spring and now is the time after all the crazies have left for the year.

I say this ever year and never follow through but my plan is to give it some attention next spring.

These were my best 3 fish from 2 trips on Pickwick last week.

Grace Helbig Wow GIF by This Might Get

Blessed with the opportunity to fish for a while today. I caught quite a few dinks and then one decent one shown. Today was a puzzle! There had been a warming trend for a couple days, and then this morning it was quite cold at 34 degrees around the time I started. I expected to find some better fish deeper, but I found the better fish pictured sitting in no more than 2 feet of water! When I fished deeper, I caught small ones. A little better fish in the shallows clued me in to where some better fish might be. I fished spinnerbaits almost the whole time with humdinger rubber skirts that I got recently. Those skirts really dance! Looked cool in the water. I also verified that a single colorado was what the fish wanted today. I threw other blade combinations and regardless of cloud cover, single colorado worked best so i kept throwing it.

Yesterday was a dinkfest. So was this morning, which was dead until about 10:00. Nothing was working. I took a Zoom Trick off a 3/0 Gammy EWG and replaced it with a 4” #956 Senko. That was the “trick”. I even said to myself “this is catching a fish!” Caught six. Five dinks, but this one was pushing 2 lbs. Biggest one I’ve caught in a while.

Awesome pics, fellas!

Just a few recent catches from some chilly water (47-51 degrees). What the pictures don't show are the tears in my eyes knowing fishing is coming to an end here in Wisconsin.

Thanks man. Yeah, usually the smaller pike are pests when I'm bass fishing. Especially with the bite-offs, etc. But the nicer ones are definitely welcomed! Especially when you're targeting them.

I finally found the bass on the outside edge of what I think is eelgrass.  I hit several small schools of 1 to 2 pounders.

Foggy start to the day. Good news... water level finally starting to come up and is just 170' from full.

Pops with the first one of the day.

fzer384.jpg?1

Lots of feisty spots but nothing >2lbs. LM weren't participating.

Sllx1ow.jpg?1

Small Keitechs, tubes, and neko rigs all produced.

sJRWNE6.jpg

Even though they were on the small side we can't complain about catching quite a few in November.
