Please share the exact latitude and longitude of your lucky rock in a PM. Don't share it with any others! They can find their own lucky rocks.

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

No sharing...understood...other than @T-Billy and @AlabamaSpothunter and @IcatchDinks and @Pat Brown, of course. I hope the rock is big enough for all of us.

A NC trip is currently being discussed. 👀 Not sure when or how long, but we're talking about it.

You misabbreviated Maine. It's ME, not NC.

Is that the 9.5lb release from the other day?  She's a gorgeous FLM, I can only imagine the headshakes!  Congrats, and I'm down to trade spots, though my billy goat city spot only hits 4-5 weeks a year so I'll help you time it.

Here's a handful of chunks from this am to sweeten the pot....

@softwateronly, if you keep catching and posting fish like that we may end up in a bidding war to see how much it takes to get those coordinates from @Swamp Girl. 😂

Congrats, again!

Whoa whoa whoa!!!  Work has been awful recently, we don't need a middleman in this transaction.  She has her own bog, :)

Yeah, I'm staying put. I like my little life on the coast.

Congrats on more bronze footballs!

Congrats to @Dwight Hottle too for another beast.

I'm going to return to my pond to cast for ten minutes. I'll probably get skunked again, but I will get to walk through my woods with my pooch and watch the water.

I managed to get out to the river and the ponds today. The river is too high, too cold, and too fast, so I moved on after a while. Hit up a pond I don't usually fish anymore and hooked into something really big. Think I must have snagged a carp. I thought I hit a log at first, and then the log ripped drag and was gone before I could think twice.

I nabbed one little bass after about another hour of fruitless casting, so the day wasn't a total loss. It's just good to be back out in the sunshine and "warm" weather.

I'm finally on the board with a decent fish after a tough winter and the challenges of tax season. Shout out to @Pat Brown for encouraging me to throw a heavy jig with paddle tail, @Siebert Outdoors  for creating the jig (3/4 oz MATA brush in black and blue), and @A-Jay for the reel (first fish on it).

This fish was in a shallow wind protected cove and smoked the jig as I was working it slow around the bottom. It was about 5lb but wouldn't be still enough for a good reading. Photo isn't great because my phone was tied to yak, I need to change my photo setup somehow. I was a little surprised by the catch because I had just launched and wasn't really prepared. Couldn't be happier though!

@FishTax I think you’re worried for no reason as your photos look great. Congratulations on getting on the board 👍🏻

I had a weekend filled with fish in the canoe!!!!!

Saturday I launched somewhere I had never laid eyes on, way up a river in the boonies about 1.5 hours south of my house. The wind was 15-18 mph and I knew I shouldn’t have brought the canoe but it’s a lot lighter than my wife’s kayak. Well I should have brought the kayak 😂. I got slammed into the shore by strong gusts a few times but there was always timber or something for me to grab onto when I hit. I decided against my better judgment and the judgement of a guy at the ramp, to start fishing downstream and paddle my way back up. Turned out it was a good decision because I could paddle back upstream against the current somewhat easily. I started off slow but eventually got 4-5 little LM on a purple jig worm with the st croix mojo bass trigon.

I made my way down to and island that I decided would be my turn around spot and there was some fairly shallow water flats littered with logs I thought maybe some LM would be thinking about nesting in. Well I looked around and there were white bass rocketing thru the flats. I put on a paddle tail and started slaying them while I worked my way back upstream. I thought I had a ways to paddle back up to the ramp but it wasn’t nearly as far as i expected and I started having back spasms. I decided to get out and stretch my legs and cast a while from the mud. From my elevated position i could white bass swiping at my lure so I switched up to a tiny fluke on jig head and working it aggressively. This was the ticket. Once I unlocked that I stood there and caught a whole bunch . You can see my trying to shake out the back spasms in the video 😂

I hopped back in the boat and slowly made my way back to the ramp, catching white bass (and a couple yellow bass) non stop after I started working the bait more aggressively. Even got a white bass with the purple worm while reeling it back in to cast

Today it rained all day so I ran errands and piddled around the house. By 5:45 it cleared off and I still had the canoe on my car so I hit the river at 6. I paddled around a huge island to a set of shoals I’ve been fishing for 2 weeks with zero bites. Well the fish finally arrived. I caught about 10 white bass shaking a zoom tiny fluke just under the surface. Then I  put an original fluke on a nose hook on the mojo bass and it was bonkers. They were slamming it on the surface, I could watch them chase and eat it . Just teasing them with the bait, when it darted to the side they would flash and attack. Even got a bonus baby smallie. Off the water by 8, not a bad two hours with 20-25 fish. I did get soaked by another few rain storms but nothing crazy

Very nice fish Dwight!   Looks like a pre and post spawn fish, but who knows with Florida.

Dwight could use them for bait. 🤦‍♂️😂 The roller coaster temps have the muskie in a major funk, so I spent the second half of the day pitching trees for LM. Ended up with 11 on a pretty tough bite. I got dialed in pretty quick. Had to be a bushy tree with the top in 8' or less, and it had to be on a point. Zero bites on older laydowns, tree tops deeper than 8', or trees that were not on a primary or secondary point.
