So what happened? I thought you were all about those reels that shall remain nameless for life!!! Are you finally going to get rid of them things? I knew once you got your first k that was it man I knew it!!!!

No way man, I'll never get rid of those, lol! I have 10 of them all blinged out with different colors. I got the Curados for $111 each. I just couldn't resist that deal. Telling you I love everything about the K but the weight! They're so heavy compared to everything else I have. When are you going to try the forbidden reel is the question??

Yesterday I went to Wally World to get a few things and as always had to go down the fishing aisle. Finally found a sunburn colored Booyah Pad Crasher to replace the one I lost months ago. Then today before I left work I picked up a natural perch Zara Spook, a pack of Strike King red skirts, a pack of Strike King black and blue skirts and a pack of Aaron's Morning Dawn Roboworms. Got the skirts to fix and experiment with the legs on my hollow body frogs. As you can see in one of the pics, I've done tricked out my sunburn colored Booyah Poppin' Pad Crasher with red legs now. ?

This week I got a 7' Heavy Fast action Zillion for a great deal from a member here.  Went out and picked up a Curado 70 to put on it.  Once I got over the fact that it's a Shimano reel on a Daiwa rod, it's become a fantastic combo.

Stopped at Dicks today and was looking for pretty much nothing and found some Seaguar Kanzen braid for $5.  I bought 4 spools (40lb, 50lb and 60lb).

I am not a big fan of braid, but for $5, I think I can give it a try again.

And made in the good ole U S of A. :respect-040:

Got all this in last night!

Gene Larew Biffle Bug Bama Bug 4.25"
Gene Larew Biffle Bug Okeechobee Craw 4.25"
Gene Larew Biffle Hardhead 4/0 5/16oz

6th Sense Divine Hybrid Jig Dark Water Special 3/8oz
Strike King Rage Craw Okeechobee Craw

Dirty Jigs T.L. Fin Football Jig Hematoma 3/8oz
Strike King Rage Craw MM Moonlight

Dirty Jigs T.L. Pitch Jig Magic Craw Red 3/8oz

Z-Man Fin Shroomz Weedless Jig Head Black 1/6oz

Z-Man Finesse TRD Junebug 2.75"

Damiki Nail Sinkers 1/8oz

I won a $20 Amazon gift card at work and they have free shipping deal for orders over $35. So I spent $60 and got a bunch of goodies:

  1. Nichols 3/8oz Sabre Swim Jig - Bluegill (x2) and Black Plague - I was on the fence, I really like the Dark Knight and Black-eye options but I figured I could get that desired look with a trailer. These get rave reviews, so I wanted to give them a shot.
  2. Megastrike 1/2oz Evolution 2 Heavy Cover Jig - Black/Blue - this jig was cheap as chips and had good reviews, I'll report back on the quality.
  3. Zoom Bait Fat Albert Twin Tail Bait - Black (x2) and Chartreuse - these are hard to find locally and I haven't given grub style baits a shot yet.
  4. Berkley Havoc Pit Boss - Sky-walker and Blue Shiner Gold - I love these baits as jig trailers and have had success in other colour options.
  5. Strike King Twin Tail Menace Grub - KVD Magic - I can't find these locally either, but saw KVD using them on WFN and had to give it a shot.
  6. Berkley Powerbait Attractant, Bass Scent - never used attractants before but I plan on marinating some pit boss and paddle-tails in this stuff to see if it produces.

Bass Pro had Yum products on sale so I stocked up on a bunch of Dingers!

The F5 Custom 3 pc travel swimbait rod just got a new reel.

Switched out the power handle for the traditional twin paddle job.

That's how we roll.

Another BPS crankin stick 7’ ML. A few packs of soft plastics. A slingshot with 3/8” BB’s (the kids wanted it). Crawfish trap, to catch the crawfish my son said had reddish orange tails with black stripes and blue claws. Polarized sunglasses for the kids. And a small sheet of $2.00 bills (while sightseeing in Washington DC)

I picked up a couple of bags of Bio Spawn baits this weekend (Vilecraw and ExoStick) at Gander Outdoors and these things worked pretty well.  I was impressed at how hard the bass hit these things.  I then fed the Bait Monkey by placing an order on their website.  We'll see how it goes.

They also gave me a discount code/link that gets you 25% off and also gives me a few points in their system if anybody is interested.

Local walmart had 6 packs of Yamamoto flapping hog's bagged up together for $6.  I guess the oil had leaked out making the bag greasy so they decided to dump them for nothing.  There were 2 bags I grabbed them all.  Sadly someone had opened up the third bag and bought 2 packs I'm guessing for full price.  $1 a pack for anything Yamamoto is a deal to good to be true IMO.  Grabbed a bunch of $2 SK Bitsy Bug jigs too.  Spent $20 for 4 jigs and 84 hogs.  I may see if anyone wants to trade something for a pack or two of them in the flea market.

Got a Lew's Mach 1 rod 6'10" MH/F for $35 on sale at DSG with free shipping. The way it was packed it was a miracle it wasn't broken.

Paired it with my Lew's Tournament MB and broke in catching some Smallmouth Bass.69_D976_FB_6_EC0_4_C2_E_B7_D9_0_EA13_CB06417370_F_129_C_453_D_83_F2_9_ACBC9_B4_D

The wife went and spent $300 at Dicks on new shoes and workout clothes. She got home and handed me $20 in Dicks cash to make up for it LOL. So I put it to good use getting ready for that fall bite.

Here's the difference between a married man and a single man (me).

After reading GReb's post, I'm thinking "so she gets to spend $300, and you get a free $20 coupon, and that's fair? What kind of deal is THAT"?

Then Burke, who I'm also assuming must be married, replies with "awesome wife".

Pretty sure I'll never be married. ?

Ditto. I am only 23, but all my friends are married or engaged at this point and they have to fight tooth and nail to even get out with me, let alone buy tackle. Yet their wives are buying shoes they'll never wear, Yeti tumblers they don't need, and $80 to get their hair and nails done ever other week. I can't fathom that.

My past 2 serious girlfriends left me because I spend more time on the water than with them. I get it, but I am not the kind of person to spend a lot of time with a girl if it comes between fishing or hockey. It'd be instantly game over if one ever had a problem with me spending my hard earned cash on tackle. Guess I've just never been inlove.

But I gotta say, I'm digging the single life a lot more than being with someone. I answer to no one. I fish 5-6 days a week, and play hockey the other days. I am home for maybe a few hours a day, and I work third shift. I feel I am living the dream but all my friends ask when I'm gonna settle down. Uh, not any time soon haha.

I was thinking that too. Until I realized that the DSG deal was $20 Dick's cash for every $100 spent....so shoulda been $60 Dick's cash (at least $40 if he rounded up to $300). Either way, free lures is cool.

I knew I was cheated!

It’s not so bad. We split the mortgage and bills.  We keep separate accounts and spend the rest on whatever we like. I pay for my truck and hobbies. She pays for her $200 hair cuts and clothes. If I go fishing in the morning she’s happy to get the chance to sleep in. In the evening she goes fishing too. And sometimes out fishes me

Now I expect this to abruptly change whenever we have kids lol

Picked up just this pack of plum crazy 7.5" Culprit worms today. Payday is tomorrow so I didn't have alot to spend, plus I've been wanting to try them out. ?
