Happy Father's Day to myself and everyone else treating themselves this weekend lol

 

Eight Booyah Covert spinnerbaits, six or eight Booyah buzzbaits.

After catching my first bass on top water frog I’m going start fishing it more.  I bought an extra pad crasher in case I lose the one tied up.  Black and yellow gold pad crusher JR.  40lbs power pro braid to spool up my lighting rod.  Berkley maxx scent green pumkin general worms.  Lost all of mine on my trip and what to fish saginaw bay soon.  Lastly, green pumkin shimme sticks.  

Finally found one in stock that I can use! Let’s see what the hype is all about for these rods. Shimano Expride 7 ft 2 heavy .. hope it’s all the hype says it is.

Shows up Wednesday and I need to talk to this monkey again to get all the wiring in going to be to redue now. 

Some stick baits, yum, Yamamoto, Kalins, berkley and of course a brand some people don’t like. Gambler heavy cover swim jig in bluegill then some small strike king jigs 1/16 - 1/4 oz some owner twist lock hooks 3/0 4/0 some baby brush hogs a pack of zakos and bearded the deuce and crazy legs chigger craw. I like to try all sorts of different brands, I am not loyal to just one. I like to try different brands and form my own opinion, almost forgot coffee tubes in natural goby. My Father’s Day gifts were great, but nothing compares to being a father and teaching my kids.

Haha when I read a brand some people dont like I looked at the pic and it was only scrolled to the bottom of the Powerbait. I thought who doesnt like Zoom then scrolled down more and saw the Googan stuff. Yeah that was it.

Life is still insane, and so of course fishing has continued to take a backseat but I’ve gotten out a few times this summer.

Also just picked up a Megabass Tequila Baccarac and a Shimano Grappler to pair up for slinging all my biggest freshwater gear and also my salt stuff-  I love low profile/high power salt fishing!  Can’t wait to put them together, spool it up and take it out for a spin!  
 

 

I finally pulled the trigger on scum frogs. Green and black - trophy series. Pitch - launch. Chartreuse and white - popping. We will see about a dedicated frog setup. Also got a couple packs of mag uv speed worms.

Some more stuff from a run to get toilet paper and formula for the baby lol. Having my favorite tackle store right down from the store is a bad thing lol. I need a bigger tub for my soft plastics, I have most of my whole collection in there.

3 Lews Hypermags, Custom SuperGrip, and some more Strike King plastics. 

Bit again.

Went to Cabelas to get some 10 inch worms for my buddies birthday present, got that and a little more.  I've had my eye on the Lake Fork spoon for a while.  Pretty excited about it.  Also, the new dudes. 

Fed that monkey forty dollars, excluding the shoes ...

I looked up from the screen and the Bait Monkey was looking down at me. "Didn't you find a casting rod with a Black Max on it recently?" (I tried to find the owner, still am).

 

"Yes, but it needs a new whatchamacallit........ROD! You're a genius monkey!"

 

Bought a Fenwick HMG M/F 6'6" that I was looking at but hadn't bought, just received it today. Credit card. Paid it off already haha. $99 +$10 shipping (but no tax).

 

I looked at a lot of websites before I finally found one in stock. This place just came up in a search, no affiliation to me.

 

If you ever run into "Joe's Sporting Goods", they're legit. I called them first because I didn't believe it was in stock. They're in Minnesota. One store location. Ordered Friday, got it Monday. Nice.

 

Sounded like a good rod according to the BassResource gang. I read some old threads I googled. It's always mentioned in the "Under $100" threads. Gonna try it tomorrow.

 

Serious point though - I would have waited and spent less, maybe on a different rod too, but I couldn't find anything in stock that I wanted. I mean it was all backorder only. 

 

It's now my most expensive rod. Tip o' the hat to the monkey.

Update: I got an email from the guy who lost the rods. It's been almost 4 weeks I'd say. So I'm going to lose the reel haha.

 

Now I have to buy a new one to go with the new rod..

 

I'm happy to return the rods - there were two - but it just figues it would be the day after I spend $100 on a new rod  It deserves a little bit better reel anyways.

 

He sounds really excited to get them back so that's good. I had put up a sign at the creek plus I had a special temporary video on my Youtube channel about the found rods. Someone sent him a photo of my sign.

 

I'm actually pretty happy about it. They aren't high dollar, one had a Walmart crank bait on it, so they may be his only ones. Very happy, I don't wanna keep someones only gear.

I’ll second that??  Most of my equipment is by no means high end but I’d be upset if I didn’t have them. You sir are a Good Man.

Thanks guys. Even the bait monkey is leaving me alone to figure this one out. I only have one baitcaster as of now and my friend gave me that one. 

 

Black Max isn't bad for me really. I could spend a little more. I'll search through the "Best reel for $100" (or less) now that I'm done doing the same thing for the rod. Pretty funny.

 

Okay who's the next bait monkey victim/poster going to be? I know I'll be back with my new reel soon enough.

I picked up a lews xfinity xs30 today with a lews laser 6’ ML rod and three packs of YUM dingers in GP chartreuse, smoke shad, black blue flake with some 10lb Power Pro braid.
