Well after learning my lesson when I ran out of my gopher mushroom heads only to find out I couldn’t get them anymore I found a Ned head I liked and stocked up.

I picked up 220 Jade’s Jigs 1/16 size, tin and bismuth used to make them is 20 percent lighter than lead, Ned heads. This should keep me stocked for a few years.

As promised, photos of my new spinnerbait combo. If I like it enough I may use a similar one for buzzbaits. I tried the combo out today. First impressions… the winch is phenomenal. The rod seems good. Two dinks in a couple hours, combo worked good. I had more photos but my feet accidentally made the photos and I just don’t know if y’all are into that or not….

especially fishing from a kayak, need to be able to move lures around to put together a box for tomorrow, etc.  Running out of slots and stacking lures, I went to TackleDirect, and used  reward points - gratis tackle boxes

That thing's awesome!

Yep, looks pretty good.  I understand it is made to be somewhat "snag-less" but where are the sunken logs, branches, channel roots and rock crevices in that video? Works good in a gravel fish tank but a $20+ bottom scrubber is eventually on a suicide mission.

Going to give Jerkbait fishing an attempt in the fall got some 110's and also have a Megabass Ronin rod on the way

Went back through some older pages on this thread, interesting to see how many people bought flatworms.

I was wondering if flat minnows are anything like flatworms?  If so I might pick myself up some...

I was wondering why I hadn't seen the Bait Monkey camped outside my house lately.  Your purchase should keep him over at your place for a good while.

Me and @JWall14 made a JDM reel purchase, some of our first real high end gear. The rods will come next when they come in stock :)

TW Shipment, all of it to go with the above jerkbait rod.

I’m excited to try those Keitech jigs I’ve heard so much about. They only had the 1/4 oz size in stock, but it should work fine. I’ll use them in a tournament this weekend, hopefully they work well! The jerkbaits also look amazing, happy to have them :)

I've found them to be good for largemouth and smallmouth. Hooked just right, they'll do a cool S wiggle when you shake the rod.

I expected smallmouth to love them, but so far flatworms have proven better for smallmouth. Maxscent in general is just the real deal imo.

You'll really like the Ronin. Surprisingly versatile rod and super fun. I like throwing the silent 110 jr for smallmouth on it.

Thanks!

I haven’t dropped over $250.00 in the local tackle shop in a few months so I figured I would try some new things lol. 6 packs of local made stick baits garlic flavor, they are really good and soft. 4 packs of rage tail menace. Some owner flipping hooks tungsten weights in 1/8 3/16 some pegs, variety of black buzz baits to fuel my new night fishing obsession lol. 4 of the new berkley stunna jerk baits a couple of sexy dawgs a duo realis pencil 100 a pop max x in bass a buzz plug in rat color. All in all not too bad more of a impulse spree than anything, I find that once I start catching a few on a certain lure I invest in that specific type so that my bases are covered lol.

I picked up my second Edge box, a 3600 size. Normally I wouldn’t spend 20 on a box but it was 25 percent off. I liked how customizable the compartment sizes were for the my needs. This is a catch all box for stuff like jig skirts, bail springs, extra snaps, walleye spin components, etc. so that flexibility will come in handy.

The smallest box will have holes drilled in the top to go in the river bag so wet rigs don’t rust when they are changed out.

I do have the Edge jig box, and while nice, I put all the jigs that were in that box in half of a standard 3700 box and added shakey heads and slider heads. Unfortunately for me the Edge jig box just wasn’t practical. I am with others that they should make one with half of it being normal compartments.

Welp, my off-the-shelf rod days may be numbered, I finally took the plunge into custom rod world. A 7'0" mod-fast swimbait stick built on a thrasher raw 73 saltwater blank, rated 1-3oz, styling cues taken from the Shimano Exprides that I love the look of. Had it built specifically for pitching & tight quarter casting rats, wakes, & glides around cover, docks, slips, etc. Should've done this years ago, I'm over the moon that the rod that's been in my head for years is now in my hands...

Well, @GreenPig told me I needed to do some shaky head fishing this time of year on Oconee, so I went to teh Tackle Warehouse site and bought some VMC stand up shaky heads and some Berkely Bottom Hoppers.

That got me thinking that about the closing rates of my drifting kayak when casting spinnerbaits and other moving baits and reel with a faster speed would help so I added an 8:5:1 Shimano Curado 200K.

Then I thought that the new Shimano would pair up well with one of my Dobyns rods, so naturally I needed a new rod for the Lew's KVD reel that was currently on the Dobyns, so I figured I'd buy the Lew's KVD rod for that. And of course I might as well buy some new line for that new reel.

So a $20 purchase turned into nearly $400. But hey, at least for that coin TW is sending me a free T-Shirt and sticker!
