Sweet.  Those look like a Bubba's slim shad.  I think this design was originally a 'carolina crank' or something like that.

They kind of seem like a Spro Little Jon and a H2O Flat Sided Squarebill had a baby. They do look a lot like that bait in the link though. Hopefully be giving them a test run Saturday.

Very nice was thinking about the preorder from TW on them. I won’t need them for winter because I’ll have ice.

The OG Slim has worked on river Smallies all season. Fish it no different than a DT really.

There are two patterns of the Chick I should do well with.

Good luck.

Z-man send you this after you took the record?

Yeah - super cool folks over there.

By my calculations, that’s about 4 decades worth of tackle

Even if I only get a measly 100 bass per individual bait, I think your math is just about right on. I’ll probably have to list who gets the unused bags in my will upon my demise - lol

Excited to hear a report on these. Been on my radar for a while.

Wow that’s awesome, and great write up. Glad they took some notice and gave you two lifetimes worth of baits.

You might be a trend setter. Mine arrived today.

rigged up a few Slim SwimZ on 1/15 oz Texas-eye jigheads for some tide pass finesse coming up in a few weeks.

And yes, they went into an all-Ela-ZTech box.

I was pushed.  It's not my fault.... at least that's what I keep telling myself.

A little bit of everything.   Jigs, soft plastic and maybe topwater.

Cool, no doubt you’ll enjoy it.

Picked up a very gently used Conquest 842S off another forum and bought my first Shimano reel to go on it a Vanford 3000 20211014_201307.thumb.jpg.cc5563c5a4fac213d4d202dbc130f981.jpg

It does feel great very light and I love the way the drag sounds.  Every other reel I have is Pflueger so this reel might be my entry point to another brand.

I’ve put together a few combos this year, the latest being a Dobyn’s Fury FR 705CB MH/mod-fast paired with a Curado 151DC for crankbaits and lipless cranks. (I’ve been throwing jerkbaits on spinning gear but might give ‘em a try on this setup too).  I spooled up with some Suffix Advance 10# that seems to work well.  I only got out with this one day, but hoping for more before our Canadian water gets hard on top.

Noticed an ebay coupon for 10% off wood bait country products.  I had been wanting to order some of Tim Earick's buck creek crankbaits, so I indulged.  Just couldn't  weed any out of my cart.  These are an even mix of dinky donkets, money maker 1's and 2's.

Tim claims to test every bait, and he signs them.

So far it feels great but setting it up to cast well has been frustrating.

I find they cast best without too strong of a cast. They cast most consistently with moderate power, and a smooth even motion.
