Some more stuff from a run to get toilet paper and formula for the baby lol. Having my favorite tackle store right down from the store is a bad thing lol. I need a bigger tub for my soft plastics, I have most of my whole collection in there.

I just received an order of some of those Grande Bass Rattlers myself from TW a week ago and I’ve been aching to try them! Great haul.

I don't know if that PopR is proud, or offended being placed in a picture right next to a PopMax.  You must like both beer and Champaign.

Haven't fished a popper in a longggg time.  Figured I'd give them both their fair shake.

Oh and I do like both beer and champaign as well as everything in between lol

Picked up this Cashion rod, CRT series 7' MH fast. Haven't used it yet. HandMade in USA. Originally went to pick up another Dobyns but ended up with this. Warranty is great on these!IMG_20210623_092334330_compress99.thumb.jpg.c43330f5ff8c52cbae6ac7d9d1449378.jpg

Don't have any of the CRTs but have an elite and 4 icons and they are all great rods.  Cashion makes awesome rods, and from what I hear their customer service is great also!

Thanks guys. Even the bait monkey is leaving me alone to figure this one out. I only have one baitcaster as of now and my friend gave me that one.

Black Max isn't bad for me really. I could spend a little more. I'll search through the "Best reel for $100" (or less) now that I'm done doing the same thing for the rod. Pretty funny.

Okay who's the next bait monkey victim/poster going to be? I know I'll be back with my new reel soon enough.

I bought a Daiwa Fuego CT for the rod. I thought about spending more and going to the next level, but no. Can't right now. Maybe if I'd spent less on the rod. Was $82 on ebay. This will be my most expensive combo so far (about $200). And all because I found some rods LOL.

Dude's coming by today to pick up his lost rods. If he offers me money I won't take it. Tell him to pay it forward to someone else. Or maybe pick up some trash at that spot ;)

I don't want to derail this thread, but the guy who owned the lost rods was VERY happy. He just picked them up.

His young son had a seizure that day next to the creek. A helicopter came and flew him out. He had to leave the rods. Dude, I am so happy that he got them back, and so was he. His son is "touch and go" right now, I don't know more than that I didn't ask. He lost them over a month ago too.

Tried to give me $20, I said please don't be insulted but I can't take it. Pay if forward maybe, pick up trash. Really nice guy. Exactly the kind of guy you want to get his stuff back to.

He says he picks up trash a lot. Volunteers for stuff. We're gonna get together sometime, he told me a good spot to try fishing too.

He was so grateful, it's his son's gear, I think he's 11, and they can't buy a lot of stuff. Totally made my day. This is the story I was afraid of when I found the rods - that someone had to leave them, and they would belong to some kid. That's why I tried to return them.

Wow! Was like something from a movie. Crazy story. It felt really really good to get him these rods. Hopefully his son is okay. They are supposed to fish a small striper tourney, father and son event.

Just thought I'd let you guys know.

And that feeling of a blessing is worth more than any trophy fish on any body of water anywhere in the world. You sir made sure that kid would be able to enjoy his next outing with his dad. God bless you, the dad and the kid.

Chills reading that.  Nice work, man.  I can't imagine how appreciative he was.

Ya Thanks

Some of those left handed baits are hard to find don't chaknow.

Btw, perhaps try leaving the hooks on them next time out.

As kids, all we cared about was casting really far off the dock. So we tied heavy rattle traps on spinning gear and slung them as hard as possible. Several times the line snapped on the forward portion of the cast with the sound of a rifle report and the lure went directly into orbit. NASA satellites are most likely still marking them on sonar to this day

Doh! Naw they just get snagged that way. :)

Actually I've lost every one I've thrown but one, and that one was the only one not thrown from shore. I think "shore" is the issue (and me).

Finally traded all my BPS gift cards for a new Tatula reel, so that meant I've gotta have a new rod. Had my eye on this Megabass Levante at a local tackle store, so....

Made a couple extra bucks so treated the Bait Monkey to some new bling.....  A Steez CT SV TW.  I was able to get it from Japan cheaper than a US Metanium.  Arrived in 3 days.  Waiting on a Megabass p5 Bait Finesse to be in stock to pair with it.

Got my Daiwa Fuego CT today. Stuck it on the brand new HMG. This new combo is my other reward* for returning the lost rod and reels (cost me $200) LOL! Gonna go try it in a few hours.

Now I gotta take a break from spending.

* first reward was knowing the 11 year-old owner got his rods back.

Great combo for the money!

I wanted a sale on whatever rod I was going to get but nothing was in stock, or on sale. Looked hard to find this rod - of course now they're everywhere :) I got a bit of a deal on the reel. The eBay seller is sending me another $10 back for a reason, he doesn't have to but whatever. So ya just under $200. My most expensive setup to date. I hope the fish appreciate it.

Edit to add:

Just tried the combo. Great reel for me! Much nicer than my other garage sale special. Need to lube it though I think.

I think I hate you...just a little...lol

Thought I'd try out some stuff from Siebert Outdoors...this place is the real deal...great looking lures and great service. I'll definitely be ordering more from them.

You’re going to have fun completely spooling that thing with a 1/4oz bait lol what a perfect combo!

A little something something, smaller beaver fried watermelon, sweet beaver green goby, 2 packs spicy beaver one blank check and the last is sungill, two sexy dawg hard knock and last but not least 3 packs of rattles in different sizes.
