Just got home from Bass Pro… They were out of a few things that I wanted, but I couldn’t leave empty handed…

Getting more of my deep cranking game on.  I ordered 2 spro DD 70 cranks and 2 bullet crank 7+100’s come in the mail.  I didn’t realize how big the bullets were.
 

Only issue is I don’t know if my current deep cranking rod will handle the bullets.  If not I guess I know what I’m building this winter !!!!  I’d probably go for a speed cranking set up.  Like what they talk about in tactical bassin.  My current rod should handle the spro’s.  I know it will handle 8xd’s 
 

in bound I have 2 13 fishing troll hunter deep crank baits coming along with a mega bass deep 6 300 and a deep 100. 

Custom spinnerbaits I ordered from Nichols. If these ain’t the purdiest things I’ve seen…..

Spent my Father’s Day gift card and the shipment finally arrived. 
 

 

Swapped that monster Evergreen SB150 for the 125, still bigger than I'd like but was curious to see how the clear pattern would do and I caught 2 on Saturday. The Giant Dog-X (GG Perch) on the other hand, put on a clinic caught me 12 smallies from 2.5-4.5lbs in 2 hours. I fished it before without any luck, so I added a #2 Owner Tear Drop Split Ring to it and that seemed to awaken the bait.

What do you do when you accidentally break off one OG Slim???

I am a fan of the Evergreen SB.  IME, the larger versions really shine when there is some chop on the water.  If it’s more calm, I usually go with a different topwater.

My only issue was the weight and it being double what my rod is rated for. The 125 is easier to manage.

At least it’s a start.

So if the wife sees this. I only bought two rods this year but for the boys on BR, aside from tons of soft plastics. Upgraded bass mafia boxes. And a deeper pro + for the yak. I’ve added 3 rods/reels this year.

 

6’8 St croix mojo mxf paired with a reel I bought late last year. Shimano slx 70 mgl.

7’ mf abu Garcia MLF spinning combo just for wacky rigs at the local pond. (4/10) wouldn’t recommend to someone who only could get one setup this year. It is decent for what I’m asking it to do, it’s just a bit sluggish. 

 

So I wanted to start throwing more herb baits in the titabawassee.  Only issue is it’s only a foot visibility with a ton of snags.  The only colors that show up well are ones that flash, chartreuse, and black.

 

husky jerks fit this bill.  Also while at cabelas I bought another 2.5 square bill.  More blue and black tubes and rage menaces

I'm generally a Shimano guy, but I needed to add a powerful 200-sized reel to the collection and couldn't pass up the deal with the current (very favorable!) Japanese exchange rate. Took the Zillion out for the first time over the weekend and I was definitely impressed. Also couldn't pass up the significantly discounted Deps with the exchange rate. Last thing... my first ever order from Japan and it got to my door in 3 days! 

 

For Father's Day my wife asked me if I needed anything for fishing.  Naturally I said "grape".

I need to curb my JDM addiction but can't wait to try this stuff out. 

 

I made a rod and reel purchase and didn’t immediately tell you guys… hope you can forgive me. A St Croix Triumph 6’6” medium spinning with a Shimano Sedona. Really like it. Never actually owned a nice spinning combo before.

Be prepared for the smell. There is nothing I found yet that is as strong as these. It's like death rolled in garlic.

 

The best thing in the bunch is oddly the sinkers that look like drop shot weights but they are actually for the free rig. They have an insert at the top rather than traditional wire or round tie.
