At $111 I can’t believe Academy still has these Lew’s Tournament Pros in stock. I use left hand or I’d get 2 minimum. I love this reel and I don’t know any owners that don’t love theirs.

Also have Pro SPs for $111 still in stock.

Making me second guess if I should have given a Lews a try! I’ve been a Daiwa loyalist…

I like Lews and Daiwa. Tournament Pro vs Tatula SV TW is a toss-up for me. I like both equally.

St Croix has their customer appreciation day today 6/18/22 savings on a lot of stuff.

I ordered a St Croix Reign, Medium Heavy Fast action casting rod in Bayside Blue color for $60 and free shipping.

@NYWayfarer  do you have a link to this rod?  I wanted to check it out and can only find combos on the factory store page.

Curado DC's for ~$208 at Academy right now.

Looking deeper there are a LOT of good sales at Academy today;

Tatula 100 - $77

Vanford 200 - $192

Am I too late to the party? I don’t see any discount ??‍♂️

I knew I shouldn't open this thread, there goes $500.

another site.com has a sale on YUM brand, they may have more, I'm still looking.

I'm not sure why it changed to "another site"?

Some sites are restricted due to legal requirements or our relationship with the site

owners. As a group they are designated as "another site" and are monitored automatically

by our system screens.

It’s how things are. I’m still not 100% which sites are banned, but usually around sale time you’ll see new folks hit the filter. It’s been a thorn for me on multiple occasions as sometimes I’m looking for a small shop or anyone not TW and worry I’m going to trip the filters.

In the past I think certain brands were also blocked, but honestly I can’t be sure. I feel like if you post anything prohibited it just flags for the mods to double check you’re not trying to circumvent the rules.

Right on, I remember seeing certain names weren't allowed to be said, but I couldn't find a list anywhere.

I know there's a good deal of people in Michigan on here, so D&R Sports in Kalamazoo is having some great in store pricing on stuff.  Pretty much everything in the tackle department is marked down.  Some memorable stuff; 15% off St Croix, 20% of Shimano, GLoomis, Daiwa.  Pretty much every bait brand is some percentage off.

Thankfully they’re a good 2 hrs away from me and gas prices are high otherwise I’d probably get more Daiwa reels I don’t need.

Academy has the 2000 size Pfleuger President reel on sale for about $35, for those looking for a good light line reel.

The new model Presidents (2020 and later) are not up to the standards of the old ones...this is something I'd pass on.

So I’ve heard. I passed on it due to teeny tiny line capacity relative to other size 2000 reels.

If you're talking the President 20 - that's not a '2000' reel. Pflueger's spinning reel sizes are 'custom'.

20 = 500

25 = 1000

30 = 2500

35 = 3000

40 = 4000 (only one that 'lines up')

How did they go downhill?  For me at any price, it seems there is a Daiwa to match with a smoother feel and better drag.  Just my opinion but I know of some folks who swear by the President reels.
