Hey thanks.  Doesnt look too bad.  Similar to my default Okuma Celilo UL for the same price.  However, why are the review so crappy.  Not positive.  Serious durability concerns.

Second attempt!  Cabela's has the Shimano Clarus 5'0" one-piece and 5'6" two-piece UL trout rods on sale for $59.99 ($30 off).  Full disclosure - I haven't fished the new Clarus rods as I shifted away from Shimano after they removed their Lifetime Warranty on rods.

Also Cabela's has all Curado I's on sale for $129.99.

And if you do buy from Cabela's don't forget to first buy gift cards for an extra 12% ish off (check giftcardgranny which is a meta search site).

I don't know if I made a good deal but here it goes ...

Just jacked the G Loomis NRX 6ft 8in Med-Heavy Casting Rod-Excellent Condition-803C JWR for $305...

Megabass lures at DSG are priced at $15+ are all $5 off.  In store only.  So, 4 Pop Maxes for $12.50 each when you use a $10 off of $50 coupon for doing a review.

Never thought I could bring myself to fork out $20 for a lure, but thanks to this thread and site... I now have a few Pop Maxes to try.

I couldn't make this up.  Two stores in Georgia.

I love DSG - it's about the only brick-and-mortar game in town for me, and I'm not complaining.

One thing I've learned about bargain-hunting at DSG and taking advantage of their sales:  the in-store sales tend to be company/system/nation-wide, but:

- online sales may not overlap with in-store sales

- only a few select sale prices are highlighted in the flyer or online ads

- an individual store may/may not have a particular sale price labeled with a sign

I've been there first thing on a Sunday or Tuesday morning when the staff are piling up and putting out new signs for the in-store promotions for the new period, and not every store will have the same signs out.  Some will not have the signs for a particular sale price, but based on whatever is "in the system," they will still ring up right at the register.  So if you see a great price at a store in say, south Florida, and the next day you are in GA and the local DSG does not have a sign up for the same product, take it to the register anyway, and it will often ring up at the price you saw in Florida.

Would be interesting to see how they ring up if you try it tomorrow.

They had them at a DSG in King of Prussia that I walked into on Saturday. But the selection was slim at best.

The crazy thing was one store had a few S-cranks and a Flapslap marked down to about $15. They would not honor the $5 off because it did not show up at the register, and the tagged price was less than the price range shown on the sign.  I've often had managers overrule things like that, but it wasn't happening at the store with the S-cranks.

I'm gonna post this in another thread but just so everyone sees it, I want to give out a warning about Gander Mtn reels. I was at a GM and picked up a baitcaster for $40. Its their store brand called the Vortex 100. The have spinning reels too. Be careful. The one I bought worked for about 10 minutes. Sadly, I can't take it back because of the fact they are going out of business. Looks like they are just dumping garbage now.

I went into the store looking for it , they didn't have it... He got online and sent it to my house from a kiosk by their customer service desk.

Last summer I snagged a Lews reel marked down to 100 from 200 since it was the last one they had and weren't' going to carry it anymore. I think it's discontinued actually but it was in the bargain cave and I wasn't going to pass that up.

Is there a bargain cave in store? Please tell me no
