Is there a bargain cave in store? Please tell me no

Yea it's literally like a "cave" in the back of the store. Stuff gets thrown in there if it was returned and can't be put back on the shelf or if it's being discontinued, or if it was damaged and gets marked down accordingly.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

Welps looks like missed that earlier .. but did feel like I got some decent deals stil

For those that might be looking for a decent 1000 size spinning reel, Dick's flash sale has the Shimano Nexave 75% off for $14.98.

Anyone seen a TW sale?  I don't get their emails.  I'm wanting the Flambeau Portage backpack - Academy has been selling it for $99, but Flambeau's MSRP is $135, which is what it costs everywhere I can find it.  Of course, I procrastinated, and now Academy no longer stocks the pack.

Just tried to get one. Out of stock. Thanks for posting though! TW's competitor (L the biggest) has their deal code on Facebook for Father's day.

I think you have to wait for a TW sale till the 4th of July

I have two of these, still sitting in their packaging.  They look REALLY small.  I think its plastic construction right?

Im so on the fence.  Not sure if I should keep them.  They look pretty cheap.

I've had my eye on this one for a bit... pretty good price and free shipping.

I even sent the link to my gf when she asked what I wanted for father's day. She told me not to mess with the packages that came in the mail Tuesday, and there was no rod tube so I'm 99.99999% sure that I'm not getting one of these...

However, last week on the way to my pool tournament we stopped by a tackle shop to bs for a few and Kelly picked up one of the nearly completed custom rods and said "if you brought home something that looked like this I couldn't even be mad".

I think I will take that little nugget and put it into my back pocket for a while.  Ken looked over at me when she said it and just smiled, we've been talking about a build for me for a while now, so it's coming (sometime). Now I just have to nail down the specifics.

Sale is online, too, so not just for Northeasterners...and they have Whopper Plopper 110s in stock.

Thanks for that - but Amazon has the duffel-style bags, but not the backpack.  That $85 portage bag is massive - I think it holds a total of 7 3700/5007 sized trays.

The backpack stores 5 - my current go-anywhere bag is struggling to hold 3 and a low profile 3600-size terminal tackle tray.  Good for smaller trips, but not when I want to take pretty much everything with me.

I'm afraid these may be discontinued which is why everyone is showing low or no stock.

that's fine too - TW shows backordered til 6/21, and I just had to rip all the carpet out of the house due to a little flooding, so my wife has informed me no new fishing gear shows up, or fishing trips til the new floors are in.

Just popped into the local DSG and what do you know... the DSG Powerbait sale is back on, almost as good as earlier this year.

This week it's buy 4 packs at $14 for 4, so if you haven't used the DSG/Powerbait rebate and are looking for a great deal, that works out to $1 each/pack when you buy 4 packs and get the rebate check.

Just an update on this: I just got my check for $40 from the earlier 4 for $10 from DSG (i.e. free after rebate! - hard to believe!).

And actually, Walmart has powerbait for less than $3/bag, so you can buy any combo of 4 for $2 total after rebate.

So, this is the real deal: 16 bags of powerbait for $16 after doing the rebate from Dicks, $8 after rebate from Walmart.

Yea I got my checks last week, I actually thought it might take longer. 16 Bags of worms for nothing, it doesn't get better than that.

I haven't gotten mine yet. Checked the rebate tracker and it says it's not found. Wonder if they lost it! Did anyone else have this problem? Really want that $40 back!

Anyone scoring on the deals at gander?  Going to check out the local store tomorrow, hoping for a cranking reel or one of the st. Croix mojo bass jig/worm rods I've been drooling over for the past few months.

Last summer I snagged a Lews reel marked down to 100 from 200 since it was the last one they had and weren't' going to carry it anymore. I think it's discontinued actually but it was in the bargain cave and I wasn't going to pass that up.

Got the old Quantum Smoke PT 220 $ reel for 70 + a coupon

Dicks has the Pflueger President for $49.98

and Cabela's has the Summit XT for $49.99.

Is the summit XT a higher end reel?  Is it preferable to the president?

Don't miss that Dicks has the President combo for $10 more @ $59

I'm waiting for the sale to go below 20% off before it's worth it to me!

Yeah, the sales were only 20% off for rods and reels and 30% off of plastics today.  That doesn't get there prices much lower than tacklwarehouses everyday prices, gander was always one of the most expensive places.

Went there today.....still suck. Only 20% off rods and reels and all good rods are gone.

DSG has the powerbait deal up again.  4/$10 and a $10 rebate from Berkley.  Go get yourself some free worms.
