Academy also has vile craws at 3.99 for 5.99 online. and cabelas has 20 off 100. Also pflueger presidents are going for 39.99 there.

will the dicks powerboat sale be going up again soon?

r $49 but the best deal is the Pflueger combo that's selling for the same price.  I'm sure the rod isn't that great but you're basically still getting the reel on sale and the rod for free.  Fantastic deal.

The rod is actually quite nice.  Nice cork handle and IM8 graphite rod with nice guides. You are right, this is a fantastic deal.

It went back up last week if you're talking about the 4 for $10 powerbait deal?  I got 8 bags of worms.  What they aren't advertising is the rebate to get $10 back on 4 bags of powerbait.

The rebate on Berkley's website excludes Dick's and Field & Stream. But the power of googling "dick's berkley powerbait rebate" you'll find a link that pulls the Dick's-specific PDF form back up.

I believe the purchase window ended on the 12th (yesterday).  Maybe I'm wrong, but the form I last looked at was the non-DSG rebate and it said the receipt must be dated July 12,  2017 or earlier to qualify

even so, 4/$10 powerbait is still a good deal.  Cheaper than havoc at full price

Is the cabelas deal for in-store purchases only? Not seeing anything on their website.

I just bought 2 Falcon BucCoo Micro Casting rods in 6'6" MH from Walmart for 16 $ each! Thats 87.3 % off!

I thought I made a killing at $35 bucks for the same exact model you got.

That was like 6 years ago !  Great Job for having a good eye !

Awesome score, @Quarry Man.  With all due respect to Walmart workers, that probably wasn't a mistake that you capitalized on.  They WANTED to sell them to you for $16 each (or at least, either Walmart's bean counters or store managers did).  You actually did them a favor - it was a true "win-win."

Occasionally they will sell rods at complete blow-out prices.  They do this to clear out inventory that is old, being replaced with new products, new graphics, or new packaging, or meets some other sales objective.  The fascinating thing is if they don't get cleared out - they will go back on the floor at regular retail pricing.

I have also seen or scored some great rods from Walmart at awesome prices when lucky enough to happen on this kind of sale, including Falcon Christie series, Quantum KVD series, Eagle Claw Skeet Reece series, Shimano Sellus, and Abu Vendetta rods all for $15-16 at one time or another.  For whatever reason, $15-16 and $9 seem to be common rock-bottom sales prices at Walmart.  During my biggest haul (felt like a heist) I asked the manager to verify that it really was OK to take the lot in my hand for $15 each.  He was more than happy to encourage me to buy ones for my buddies and escort me to the till to make sure they rang up right (not to get security!).

In the worst cases, I've picked up rods that were deeply discounted but didn't get sold, are cleared out of their system, and then they won't ring up at the till at all and get shipped away for disposal or maybe auction.

You truly scored because you can't just go in there expecting to find a deal that impressive.  Prices are often reduced gradually, and lots of anglers are happy to snap them on the first price reduction, especially in high-traffic stores.

When I was making my selection each color said that they had like 23 or 24 in stock but these things seem to go pretty fast. They just posted to them on their web site at noon!

I just checked and they are out of Bluegill, Bone and Camo and only have 5 left of the Black/Blue and the Pearl White (but more in the other colors)...wow, that didn't take long...within 2 hours they're sold out of 3 colors and almost out of 2 more. I hope these things live up to the hype...lol.

Outlet bait and tackle is having a pretty nice sale.  Saw GYCB senkos for 1.99-3.99 a bag and some other decent deals

The Lamiglas website has a few discontinued Excel rods for $49.95 if anyone is interested.

Tsd has a slew of things in sale including dobyns 15% off

DSG has a buy one get on 50% off sale, so I picked up a few of the new Rapala ripstops.
