Reminds me of a story. 25 years ago or so, my son was with my mother and father at their summer home in Door County. They punished him for something or other. He took 2 sheets of paper and a red marker and made a list of "Rules for Door County". My mother framed the list and the rules remain on the wall to this day.

Not only is open water non existent up here but so is the sunshine this time of year. Most rivers are even froze over. 

Some more “open water” but it would be a serious problem if this pond froze

So we're at Fish Creek winterfest. They have a game called wheel of meat. 3 bucks buys a chance to win your choice of 2 meats. The grandson runs up to the table and wants "pig". He got crazy happy when they picked his number. Got some bacon and brats. We're having waffles and pig for breakfast tomorrow.

Nice! Pig makes a fine meal 

And here he is playing hockey. He also did ice bowling and basketball toss, football toss, and toilet seat horseshoes.

We taught him that some animals are food and others are not. He's good with eating pig, cow, fish, bird, deer. Cats and dogs are for pets.

We taught him meat will make him big and strong. 

Our cat loves baths...

 

Today was our boy Hank’s “gotcha” day. What a difference a year makes. Picked him up following a surgery today. He is happy to be home and will be good as new in no time.

A growth plate in his leg got damaged last summer which caused his foot to be crooked. Had to wait until fully grown to have surgery to repair it. They cut a wedge of bone out and put in a plate to straighten the foot. Will be on “light duty” for the next couple months. Hate we had to do it but he’s so young, that we had to try so he can have the best life he can. If left crooked, it would eventually damage his other joints and could eventually lose his leg. Poor guy is happy to be home after 4 days at the vet.
