fun ride and significant because that’s 7 month old hazel riding with her daddy in the red canoe. Her first boat ride!!! (She already has 2 life jackets to choose from)

Had a couple passengers on the boat today, I think they really enjoyed their ride along.

  • After a couple of years of being used to make the new movie "TOP GUN-2" this F-18 E  has just arrived @ our facility in Jacksonville Fl. for rework, fresh paint and being returned to the active fleet.

Grandkids by their snow monster a few weeks ago.

They were on their way home and their dad snapped this picture.

-31 this morning. This is about the only place that’s decent enough to sit by today.

Nice ~  My dogs would be cuddled right up to that deal.

Me too.

"Only" -17 here this morning.

Cold paw was rampant ~ Again.

It’s the new normal lately regarding the drought conditions in California, air temperature in the upper 70’s and not a cloud in the sky. It was a nice day of casting and I did enjoy the boat ride. However, we really could use some rain and more snow on the Sierras…

They were laying on the rug in front for a while. I decided to give them a brush, can you guess which pic is the hair I got from our Rotti/lab mix and which is from the huskie/shepard? ?

With all this nice weather we’re having, the Mrs and I took a little road trip to a local brewery. I did enjoy an Angles and Dangles Blonde Ale and a Saginaw Golden Ale. The food served was pretty tasty. And yes I did leave with a couple of four packs of the Angles and Dangles

The launch area was 20 miles or so south of where I was.

In high school we had our names on our helmets, first initial and last name

We had a couple of cousins Scott and Duane Angle

Naturally, we had a coach that called them Sangle and Dangle

Now they have an ale named after them lol

Interesting story @BassNJake, I’m sure they’d enjoy a few of these. Here’s a little more history regarding that how that ale was named. The brewery is located across the Mare Island Naval Shipyard dry docks on the Napa River where various types of ships and submarines were built or overhauled over the years

That story is way more interesting than my sangle and dangle high school football story!!

I can fish everyday but no way do I want to experience real angles and dangles under water

Just caught Whiskey Myers in concert in Jersey with a buddy.  They are one of my favorite bands and they didn’t disappoint live by any stretch. “On the River” live was fantastic, “Stone” was stunning. Really good concert. I only wish it went longer, and it was almost 2 hours

Took advantage of the 60 degree weather to change out the oil and lower unit lube on the boat. Everything checked out, and now just have to get past this next long cold snap before being able to get out on the water - but the boat will be ready to roll.

A good friend who's been out of the loop for awhile with extreme personal business thought about me.
He had to settle his dad's estate - the cool outcome, he brought home his dad's cherry Model A, and has since become the Program VP for the local car club.

Here are the photos that will interest most.

He established his hobby business restoring antique bicycles, partly because his real job with heavy equipment mfg included traveling with a trade show van.  Every town he visited, he previewed craigslist and made appointments to view and buy bicycles that interested him, which he restored and turned - his wife wouldn't let him keep them all...
Also in this tough time, his grown son across the country got into legal trouble.
My friend sold $8000 from his bike collection to help, including a 1939 Umberto Dei condorino (Mussolini-era Italian city bike).

But through that carnage, he held out this '85 Mercian - we never talked about it - he just knew I would want it.

I picked it up last weekend, and got to see the A-model - earlier photos I took when he brought it out.

And since I'm showing, here are the photos I took before of the stunning Dei, well-received by its new owner in California.

He still has more than a few bikes, including his favorite Gloria and Team 7Eleven that rode in TdF.

Baseball Friday, hoops Saturday

I hope you work hard all week to deserve all this galavanting all weekend!

Just got back today from 2-1/2 days in the bush at the hunt camp for our annual guys snowmobile trip. There were 7 of us, mostly with older, smaller sleds that are great for bushwhacking. The conditions were perfect for it, with some rain early in the week followed by a quick deep freeze to stiffen up the snow, then topped off with a fresh couple inches of powder. We could literally go anywhere we wanted in the bush without getting stuck. Put on lots of miles, had some campfire lunches, some barley pops back at the camp in the evening and just general catching up with guys that haven’t been together much lately. No injuries, no break downs in the bush and only a couple slow motion rollovers, that were easily tipped back up and we kept on going. Couldn’t ask for a better weekend for up here this time of year.
