Post a photo a day!

fished Marshyhope creek for the first time yesterday, I never did get a fish into the boat, but it was a beautiful day to be on the water. The gf's stepdad went along, he took 2nd in the tournament with 2 fish, apparently it was a brutal day for everyone. We saw a beaver, and a couple of bald eagles, but it's hard to get a good pic at 60+ mph or when you have a fishing rod in your hand... 20170618_063925_1.jpg.57cf6e05959b3f47f4c833b873d679ad.jpg

the wind was pushing up river, so the tide never got right (is what I was told anyway)

I did figure out that I can skip a Bizzbait Pad Daddy under a bridge using a baitcaster, now that is fun stuff. The look on my fishing partner's face the third or fourth time I did it was priceless

Lake Wales, Florida

The Florida Panther is actually an isolated population of cougar.

Oddly, one of their favorite foods in Florida is the armadillo.

Super Green with Envy ~

Before retiring to the north woods, I lived within 2 miles of the Atlantic Ocean my whole life; not to mention the career.

The Smell, the salt & the freshness ~ most days I really miss it.

Thank you. :)  I'm assuming you spent many a day on Revere Beach growing up?

I bought that home in Kennebunkport back in 2001. In 2004 I had to pick the house up and roll it to the driveway so I can put a foundation under it. It was sitting on railroad ties that were rotting out quickly. The structure was a 2 car garage with an apartment on top. After many years of sweat equity it's transformed into a nice little home with 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor and an open floor living area on top with a view of the beach.

I grew up in Mass and spent many a lazy summer day on several of the beaches both north & south on Boston.

I did hang out on Revere Beach quite a bit AND I even worked at Kelly's Roast Beef for 2 years before joining the service - Good Eats !

While 'doing my job' I had the good fortune to visit (and live on or near) many more from Maine south to both the Carolina's.

I always had sand in my shoes

Good Times.

Thanks for taking me back . . . .

OMG, Kelly's Roast Beef! Now you have my mouth watering, @A-Jay! :)

@A-Jay, you were probably listening to The Stompers back then? :D

This was 76-77 so it was probably Aerosmith & Fleetwood Mac . . . .

And go easy with the 'back then' - I'm very sensitive . . .

:D

Careless Raccoon

Lois & I were fishing at Sturm Island, Lake Kissimmee when I heard a commotion in the marsh.

I waited with my camera in hand, just in case the mystery visitor appeared.

Sure enough, this silly raccoon came splashing out of the marsh, he was so preoccupied forging

that he never seen me until he was just a few feet from the boat. I snapped his picture

the same instant he finally noticed me; his expression was a mix of surprise & shame  :D

They're known as Wild Turkeys,

but they're not too wild in Lake Wales, FL.

That's my trailer tongue in the foreground

Popular advice is to aim at the head with 7-1/2 shot, but all you need here is a big butterfly net  :D

We have a substantial amount of wild turkey around our property as well.  They're only slightly skittish.

We lived a few years on the shore of Lake Walk-In-Water, FL where the wild turkeys grew accustomed

to seeing humans. This gave me a chance to get a few closeup shots I'd never get in the wild:
