Uh, oh, I just added to it.

Love my Stradic CI4+ 2500.  The smoothness of the drag is better than I expected a reel could be.

Still haven't found a Shimano casting reel that I love...I always seem to prefer my Daiwas there

Daiwa Tatula CT Type R 6.3:1

Man, probably my Zillion SV TWS 6:3:1, first highend reel and caught some of the biggest fish on it. A couple fours or low fives. Had a Promax which I caught some high fours on, first baitcaster, and then there is my Curado K just loved the feel of the reel.

Got too many reels to list here, but, my Calais 100A is my all time favorite. Have a dozen just to be sure !!

Steez SV TW, but Tatula is not that far behind for a fraction of the cost.  Above 1/4 oz Tat, below Steez.  If skipping a lure is never an option Curado 70.

Shimano Core 50MG7 with Brenious 7.7 gear installed

Can I have more favourites than just one. For heavy stuff, I just love the new Shimano bantam, it’s probably the best low profile salmon steelhead reel I’ve found to date. For light stuff, I do like the jdm  alderbaren 30 but recently I ordered the new alpha ctsv and it’s awesome. It beats the heck out of the alpha 105sv and even like it better than the zillion I have.

I love my daiwa saltist 3000. Yes its a spinning reel. Its my punching reel. Yes i punch with spinning gear

This isn't gonna help any, but:

Lamson Force SL Series II Fly Fishing Reel.  The size 3.

It weighs 3.7 oz. and has a drag that'll slow down a baby tarpon.  It's more drag than I need for smallies, pike and musky...but...oh...so...sweet...

My Daiwa Sol.  I love all my Daiwa baitcasters, but my first Sol will always be my favorite.

Nice collection there! What are  the reels in the top row?

Spinning-Shimano Stella

Baitcaster-Shimano Metanium MGL

I’d probably have the hardest time getting rid of my 2500 ci4+. I just got the 1000 size for crappie fishing but haven’t used it yet. Hope it’s just as good.

I like all of my baitcasters a lot, but I’d probably keep the MGL Metanium it I could only keep one. Probably just for the cool factor.

It'd be wrong for me to pick one of my children over the others.

First 3 are Scorpion 1000XT's w/Brenious 7.7:1 gears and Metanium XG Handles, worm/jig reels, Aldebaren 50, my bank fishing reel, and a Curado 50E done up as a BFS to throw 6lb. Flouro. Got about 5-6 more I keep in my buds boat. Brian.

I really have an attachment to my Diawa SV103 and OG Zillion.  I'm also tickled with my Ballistic LT 3000.  I've never met a reel I didn't like though.

Scorpion 70

After some time on the water with it, my Curado DC is tied, maybe a nose ahead.

It's tough to pick one favorite, they all have their place. If I had to, I'd pick my Abu Record 40 (modified with 2BB levelwind and 2BB cog wheel).

I bet that casts beautifully.  I'd love to get my hands on a Record 40.  How is it at casting lighter baits?  Doesn't it have a shallow wiffle spool?

A statement I have made on more than one occasion.  :teeth:

Yes, it has the shallow wiffle spool. It casts like a dream. I've never tried to cast anything under 1/4 oz., but it casts small squarebills and 1/4 oz. lipless cranks with ease.

Good luck finding a Record 40. They show up on ebay occasionally, but they've been out of production for several years now. Why ABU discontinued them I'll never know.?‍♂️

They seem to do that with a lot of popular models.  I've been stock piling Pro Max and Black Max 1600/3600 reels lately.  Thankfully those haven't skyrocketed in price, yet.
