Question….. I got a bottle of Skrewball peanut butter whiskey as a stocking stuffer.  I’ve looked at all the recipes from straight to in coffee.  How do you recommend I try it for the first time?

I think it was half and half, might've been a little French vanilla cream and milk. Was like a white chocolate peanut butter cup, absolutely delicious.

I suggest going right to their website and view all the incredible recipes

Thanks, I’ve done that but I was asking for suggestions on what others have tried and liked like @Banned User suggested.

I didn’t realize you went direct to their website. I thought you did a general search

Mixed with soda and orange wheel is probably the way I’d have it. I’m not much of a mixed drinks drinker

Best way I had it was in a PBJ shooter. Its very sweet so you have to be in that mood.

@TOXIC Christmas 2024 my niece and nephews made both PB&J shots which were Skrewball mixed with grape soda but as pointed out by @Junger it’s very sweet and not something I’d indulge in very often. They also made  what they referred to as Skrewball mudslides which included Skrewball, Kahlua & Bailey’s Irish Cream mixed in a shaker with ice and served martini style.  I rather enjoyed that one especially as an after dinner drink. I was also informed that night although we didn’t partake in this one but you substitute the Kahlua for coffee flavored whiskey.

@TOXIC I hope you keep us posted on what you try and ultimately like.

A store manager who knows I love rye offered me this for a very reasonable price.  Expensive, but very reasonable compared to secondary market prices.  I couldn't pass on it.  I've had the 17yr and 19yr as single pours in bars and he knew I have been looking for a bottle.  It's just an outstanding rye.  Sweet and spicy with cinnamon, vanilla and cherry.  It's a little bit low on proof at 95 but that makes it more drinkable.  It's one of those bottles that is going to empty quickly and then I'm going to be angry with myself for drinking it so fast.

Since I wasn’t keen on adding a bunch of additional liquors and trying to make it fancier than it is, I just added some vanilla coffee creamer and whole milk over ice for an after dinner White Russian style drink.  It was good but no more than one, way to rich for more than that.

Steph and I were blessed to be able to get away for a few days to Bardstown, KY. We already had it booked Wed-Sat when Woodford Reserve announced they were releasing their annual Double Double Oaked Bourbon. That creates a huge traffic jam at the distillery. We just lucked into being there the same day. We got to sit down with only 18 other people for a special tasting with Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall who brought her own barrel pick. She and Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris are really geniune people who took an interest in all of us. They signed our Double Double bottles too. We also got up early one morning to stand in line for some allocated bourbons at Heaven Hill. Picked up our favorite private cask available only at the Chicken **** distillery. We spent every evening with friends at The Volstead Bourbon Lounge. Excellent, relaxing mini-vacation.

@BigAngus752 Nice pickups. The WF DDO has an amazing nose. I'm actually headed to Louisville in March to do a barrel pick at Bardstown Bourbon Company, which will be my first experience on the trail. Hopefully I can get some nice pick ups when I'm there too.

Yall should definitely drop by Glen’s creek distillery if you’re ever on the bourbon trail. It’s the opposite of all the other ones, totally blue collar. And the s’otit vodka is amazing, the label is absolutely hilarious.

I took January off from alcohol consumption.

I've never been a heavy drinker my entire life other than some benders way back during my college days. I mostly just drink beer.

I've lost 6 pounds in 18 days. But I will admit I do kind of have a hankering for a cold spotted cow again now.

Dry January here…been working out on the daily as well

Dry january has never worked for me. My wife is usually traveling, there are football games and parties, and various other stuff going on. Last year my buddy introduced me to an alternative- dry Feb/March. You start at the Super Bowl in mid Feb and you’re dry until St Patrick’s day. Still a month off, but during a better time. And, I can take the 6 week lead up to it to wind down.

I’m definitely on board with this and I’m going to give it a whirl this year 👍🏻 Also although I know the concept is zero alcohol I do find these to be the closest thing possible for my taste buds at least. YMMV.IMG_0514.jpeg

Don't drink much anymore. But in the past...

I know you said you didn't want to add a bunch of liqueurs but you only need one. Chambord raspberry liqueur. Basically PBJ and not overly sweet. Good stuff!

Last day of January so that means in less than 12 hours dry January is up. @Eric 26, I will be doing a British Ale tomorrow and there will not be a wee bit of shenanigans. I picked up an Ale from London.

Stay tuned 🙂

The storm is on and I have a case of Mich ultra my son left here in the fridge. Maybe I'll crack a few and watch the opens conclusion. Who knows. I really don't care much for drinking anymore. These days water is my drug of choice and milk and coffee is considered "The Hard Stuff"

I confided in my girlfriend the other day that I am completely and hopelessly addicted to water. It’s only getting worse, and I have no plans of stopping.

Well this weather is dark beer time.

First up was Schatten / Seed collaboration German  Schwarzbier, d**n good.

Second was Firestorm Walker Wookey Jack, a dark Rye IPA, another home run!!

Watching the NFL super bowl highlights on the NFL network with John Facenda , Hank Stram is a riot on the sideline, man I miss old time football!
