My Season Just Ended

Featured Replies

Vascular surgeon just informed my that on October 5 at 0730 he is going to operate on my right carotid artery to remove a partial blockage before I have a stroke.  Nuts and with new bunk boards on my trailer.  I will be grounded for two weeks after.  I can't wait.

..and I thought I had it bad having my foot blow up with gout to the point I can't sleep some nights let alone stand or walk. That's rough man, but be glad your doctor found it when he did. My dad had a series of mini strokes late last year as well for a similar reason and his doctor didn't and that could have been avoided but fortunately he is okay with no permanent damage. If you don't get that taken care of it it could do a lot worse than just end your season.

I hope everything goes smoothly and wish you a quick recovery.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and are setting some hooks soon.

I would make him wait!? Hope you recover quickly!

Glad your doctor found the problem in time @OnthePotomac, hope it’s a smooth procedure and a speedy recovery

Good luck to you sir. Hope you have a fast recovery and enjoy a healthy life.

Hope everything goes well and you're back to fishing soon.

Here’s to next season. Good to know you’ll be healthy and ready for it.

Hope to hear of your return to fishing. Good luck

My wife had hers done last September and they just told her it's half way blocked again. Getting old is NOT for the faint of heart. Good luck!

PS that's what ended our season early last year. She went in the first week of September and by the time she was up and around the weather was lousy.

Here's the thing though. She was having little strokes and they got her in just in time. What I'm trying to point out is that things could be a lot worse than just missing out on some fishing. Get well soon. The fish will wait.

That stinks but it sounds like could have been a lot worse. Hope it goes smooth for you.

The fish will still be there waiting, when you get back.

All the best for a speedy recovery.

You will get thru this and should maybe change some things in your diet. Better than the alternative of not knowing and having a life changing event. See you out fishing next year on the mighty potomac river!

Prayers for a speedy recovery. You will be back at it in no time.

Glad they found the issue BEFORE you had a stroke.  Good luck, get plenty of rest.

wishing you a speedy recovery. keep us posted.
