Fluke, trd, pitboss, powerworm, senko, rage craw, rage menace, baby brush hog, keitech fats, and a fat Albert grub. All of these come with me all the time

Two years ago I bought a pack of Berkley Craw Fatty plastics. They have since become one of my go to baits!

Others would be:

Missile Baits D-Bomb

RI Skinny Dipper (these work great on a weighted swim bait hook and thrown up into lillypads. It comes through grass extremely well too.

Rage Tail Rage Craw

Rage Tail Cut R worm

Berkley Chigger Craw

This isn’t so much about hype, more of a fact on color. Pumpkin Seed is a color that is sort of falling off the face of the earth. Nowhere near has the availability it had years ago. Everything came in that. Now it’s like there is no need to manufacturer it because no one wants it. Not sure what the story is behind this.  Not totally gone, but not what it was.

I'll throw in some older ones for good measure. Mann's Jelly Worm, Producto, and Ditto Gator Tail. And we should never forget the Creme Scoundrel, the one that started all the hype.

OG Power Worm

Producto Lure Tournament worms are still my favorite after almost 40 years of fishing them.

Rage Craws.  I remember a buddy seeing me rig one up for the first time, and he said I was really gonna like the action.  I had no idea it would become such an essential bait for me.  A lot of plastics have come and gone in my tackle box, but these remain.

Grande Bass Rattlesnake in Vicks #20 and Big Bite Baits Coontail in Junebug. These worms have saved many a crappy days. Brian.

Big bite baits grubs as jig trailer. Works every time. And yum stick worms wacky.  I got them cause they were cheaper but I love them.

Well here we go...yes I know its winter! We all have those baits that we bought that really let us down or in some cases maybe even pi#$ed us off. But its Sunday Funday and lets go the other direction...what is a soft bait that lived up to the hype? Ill start with 3- Zoom trick worm and ultravibe speed craw....and the biggest one for me the rage menace. Heard for years how great it is and thought oh yeah ok...don't think I even threw another swim jig trailer last year..no reason to. What say you guys? What impressed you?

*Great Choices !

You beat me to it!

Senko and Pit Boss.  If you can't catch something on one of those 2, go home or go somewhere else.

Googan bait lol.

The krackin kraw is amazing.

6th Sense is another soft plastic I grouped into the “won’t go anywhere” category. Proven wrong happily with the hogwalla and stroker kraw t-rigged.

Berkley Pit Boss, Yamamoto Senko, and the now discontinued Jackall I Shad.

Maxscent Flat worm was a little mental last season.

And the Paul Krews hand poured Goby Swimbait matched the hatch here for me to the tune of several plus sized brown bass.

Senkos are amazing producers. I have done ok with pit bosses, but not on the same level as senkos. Only zoom super flukes are on the same level as senkos in my experience.

I prefer the un-hyped ones that nobody talks about that work. ?

4" Berkley Power worm curly tail in Tequila Sunrise or a 5" senko red shad have worked for me in Ohio Tennessee & Florida rain or shine, cold or hot!
