As I’ve never owned top end/enthusiast equipment I would pick the Daiwa Steez SV TW. So far I’m extremely happy with the Tatulas I own.

I dont know. I just got a Curado BFS and it has exceeded my expectations.

Purple Alpha for sure (nib!) cause i missed out on a few things back then. 

I have two Zpi'd Steez sv tw's, so I would add 2 KTF tuned Steez CT's to match if i could. 

 

Here are my Zpi Sv's...one with an 'M' spool and the other with a 'PG' spool.

 

I need 2 of these...

Snyder Kentucky reel.  

 

I like my current reels well enough in usage.  I don't think I'd gain much by upgrading from my Daiwa Tatulas or other similar reels.  Plus, I like that since they're not crazy expensive, I don't have to worry about losing or breaking them. 

 

But the Snyder Kentucky reel could be traded for a nice boat.  And I could make good use of that.

Me too. It's a niche reel and has it's limitations without question, but it's really good at what it does and very fun to use.

 

I am looking to get another because finesse is what I do much of the time, and a second one would be nice to have on the deck. If I am fishing finesse (a relative term for certain), there are probably a couple different techniques/baits that could both call for the same rod and reel, or slightly different rods with the same reel, and I don't want to have to tie and re-tie to switch among them. I have three similar, but slightly different spinning combos for the same reason.

@Big Hands It has limitations, but IMO, they arent as big a deal as the advertising makes it seem. As long as you're not really deep or in heavy cover, it does about anything I'd ever need. Since, I'm never deep and there is no heavy cover around here. 

What about deep water would prevent a reel from working?

Line capacity, I think is probably what he is alluding to, although I have fished it up to 30' deep myself. But there's not much left in reserve when you cast out a ways, and then let it sink.

I am happy with the Lews reels I have now. If I was going for a new it would probably be the Shimano Curado K. For me I don't want or need super high end equipment. 

Probably the high end Daiwa or shimano baitcasters. 

I have many Daiwa Tatula, Steez and Zillion reels, except new Steez SV LTD, and maybe a Morethan just to say I have one

I was just browsing this post, and thinking "no one mentioned the Morethan PE Special?" Besides that, a dozen of SV103 or TDZ Type-R would be nice as well. 

 

 

I have a the New Met and the Bantam, over the past year I have gravitated towards the Bantam, its smooth, solid and comfortable to grip, just an overall awesome reel.

I was surprised, too.  I'm generally not a person that is prone to shiny and flashy.  The bait and gear monkeys do not have their claws in me.  I have no need for this reel but I sure do like it.

If the reel costed money (but I wasn't worried about the price), another Curado (all kinds; MGL, DC, K, etc).

 

If the reel was free, the most expensive reel in the market, so that i can sell it for more Curados.

I haven’t let a budget get in the way of what fishing tackle I want. Every high quality reel can be tuned to cast further then you can detect a strike and retrieve smoothly so you don’t feel or hear any reel gear noise. 

To me reels are functional fishing tools, not collectible toys to catch the largest bass in the lake, that has always been my goal. If I can cast my jigs 50 yards accurately I am satisfied with my reels.

The anniversary edition Ambassadeur. I love Ambassadeur reels, and I mostly catfish now, so it would suit my needs well.
