If you had $250.00 for a new baitcast reel, what would you buy?

Get another Patriarch or a Patriarch XT - the Patriarch I have has been very good to me. Unfortunately, it'd be a used one, or an overstock new one offered on the Auction Site as Pflueger seems to have stopped making them

You can pick up a Lews hypermag right now on sale for $250.  I have several reels above that price and it handles just as nice.

Wait for the TW labor day sale @15% off. I'm partial to Shimano.  

   As stubborn and contrary as I can be, I have to admit that I like the Tatula 150H that I've got. I know, I know ..... I never thought I'd hear myself say that, either. ? I'd get another one, in a higher gear ratio.       jj

I've been extremely happy with my Curado 70 MGL K so I'd likely add a 4th one.

Lew's Custom Lite is an excellent reel that is insanely light at just 4.9 oz.  Not sure what the current street prices are but it used to be near your price constraint. To get something lighter, you would need to go with something like a Shimano Aldebaran which is even more expensive.

A bullet proof vest.   Because I would need one if I bought one more reel.

I will sell you a used but MINT condition Shimano Bantam MGL for $225 TYD if you are interested. Probably the best deal you can get.

I would buy myself another Curado 150 DC.  I really like those that I have.

I've gotten multiple Tatula SV on ebay for $160... you cannot get a better reel for the money than that...

I would buy another Shimano SLX DC. I would take remainder funds and buy line to spool it and have extra spools.
