Whether the Keitech FAT Swing Impact 2.8" , SK Rage Swimmer 2.75" or the BPS swim bait 3" , what jig head are you using for these baby swim baits ? I thought about either a 1/8 oz. SK Baby Squadron jig head or one of the Z-Man Neg Rig jig head or similar with a #1 to 2/0 short shank hook . What jig head are you using for the smallest swim baits 3" and under in size ?

I've used 2.8 Kietech's on mine, they work just fine.

For 3/16 I like the VMC with the spring keeper best-it holds the bait best, less damage, bait lasts longer.  For 1/8 I use spotstickers which can be had with 3/0 or 4/0 hooks.

 

You want a good hook gap so the point is well exposed, so bigger hooks than you might otherwise use on a jig.  I don't think the Ned jigs are good for this, not enough gap, hooks too small, too fragile.

I like a #1 for thinner 3" baits like Easy Shiners and 1/0 for larger profile baits like Swing Fats.  Hayabusas Brush Easy in 1 or 1/0 is a great head.  If your just using it for swimming Owners Ultrahead Darter works really well with light tackle.

These are really nice, but there designed for small crappie baits with a #4 hook.

I like the Big Bite Baits BBJ, they hook fish and cost $3.49 for a six pack.  They work great with 2.5-3" swimbaits.

Dobyns light hook in 1/8 and 3/16.  Best keeper ever and a sharp hook.

The Big Bite swimmer head is the best I've found. You can get them up to a 3/8 head that still has a short enough hook that won't kill the action of the smaller baits. Great  keeper also.

I appreciate the replies - the Siebert Morel Ned Jig Head uses an Owner 5313 #1 and 1/0 size hook which are pretty tough . I do prefer eyes on a swim bait jig head though (if given a choice). 

I'll use either a 1/16 or 1/8 round head jig.

Baby Squadron is my pick for 3.3" - don't go any smaller than that though

*Would the same Baby Squadren (i.e. 1/18th oz.) still fit the approx. 2.75" swim baits ?
