Super User Teal Posted April 15, 2020 Super User Posted April 15, 2020 Awesome job brother. You have a gift. Looks great. 1 Quote
DanielG Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 A crayfish bait with articulating tail. I (hopefully ) curls upon retrieval. I haven't tried it yet. 4 Quote
DanielG Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 This social distancing thing has kept me in the shop lately... hence the series of lures I am posting. Got to do something. I saw a video on making a popper. I've never made one and actually never used one. I've got one now... The video of it's making is below. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 19, 2020 Global Moderator Posted April 19, 2020 Not sure how well it will function, but I made my 6 year old a mini bladed jig. It's a 1/0 hook on a 1/8oz head and micro blade. Color scheme is one of my most popular and blue is his favorite color so that part was easy. Next to one of my standard 3/8oz baits for scale. 3 Quote
Super User Teal Posted April 20, 2020 Super User Posted April 20, 2020 Great job Daniel. Watching you work is my new favorite show. You are a true craftsman. 1 Quote
DanielG Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Well thank you. I just post stuff because i'm weird that way I enjoy the tech, and it's something to do. I think I'll make a rod rack for the house tomorrow. 1 Quote
DanielG Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Today I went out into the shop and put together a simple rod rack for the house. Three pieces of wood and a few screws 4 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 21, 2020 Super User Posted April 21, 2020 You have all the cool toys! I like the hidden countersunk mounting screws on the stabilizer. The pocket holes are a nice touch - hidden and strong! 1 Quote
DanielG Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Yes. The pocket hole jig is a nice handy way to cheat in woodworking. 2 Quote
MountainMan83 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Just finished up the painting and rebuild of this TDZ. Ported the frame on a manual mill. 5 Quote
Fishstalker001 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Here's a few designs I've came up with, only been painting baits for a couple months now. I'vebecome addicted lol 4 Quote
DanielG Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Looks like you've got a hellava start. Those are nice paint jobs. I've been making lures a short time too. As you get used to the airbrush it does get easier too. Every time I pull back on the trigger I still wonder what damage I'll do and how good it will come out. Keep it up and make sure we get to see the future work. Thnx for posting. On 4/29/2020 at 4:44 AM, MountainMan83 said: Just finished up the painting and rebuild of this TDZ. If you ever do another on consider that. I'd certainly watch. 3 Quote
Fishstalker001 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Thanks for the complement, I surely can relate to the airbrush comment. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted May 1, 2020 Super User Posted May 1, 2020 Have spent hours and hours doing all this before life's changes....soooo soooo fun. You all are doing awesome. Fish don't stand a chance!! Quote
Bdnoble84 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Decided to try my hand on some wooden baits since ive made more jigs and spinnerbaits than i have time to fish currently. Here are a few of my first attempts. The carving part has been the easiest part for me. Definitely have some work to do figuring out lure placement. Also my first attempts with an airbrush so im nowhere near where i want to be on that front either. 3 Quote
DanielG Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 A three part video 1. I finish a started two weeks ago segmented swimbait, 2. Repair a broken bill, 3. reposition a line tie to see if action improves on another bait, oh and I guess 4. I clean the shop. 2 Quote

What owner hook are you using, im assuming you modified it since i dont think owner makes a 30 degree hook? Quote
