But your airbrushing skills are second to none. 10 hours ago, Harold Scoggins said: A little COVID entertainment this morning. Great job, seems like you’ve got the paint pretty figured out. Nice full skirts also.

DanielG
I took the baits I made this winter down to the dock for the first time and got them wet. These is a foray into making my first baits. Some successes and some failures. Video below.
DanielG
Latest Update: It didn't work. The picture is now replaced with a video below..... --------------------- For the fun of it today I decided to try some experimental stuff. A bait with 1. mid body diving planes (like on a submarine) Trying to get it to dive deeper. 2. Two line ties to be able to change the action a bit. 3. Purple... Never used it before. Purple and gold. Strange but true. The verdict is still out as to how it goes. I may still have to make some modifications before I eventually toss it out! ------------------------

BASS302
@DanielG, You should keep your submarine bait, it has an interesting wobble when you were testing it close to shore. Maybe you should retrieve it slower, at the speed you tested it. It might not dive as deep as you envisioned, but could be effective nonetheless. DanielG
Today I made a diver that actually dives. And it seems to move nicely in the water too.

DanielG
A crayfish bait with articulating tail. I (hopefully ) curls upon retrieval. I haven't tried it yet.
DanielG
This social distancing thing has kept me in the shop lately... hence the series of lures I am posting. Got to do something. I saw a video on making a popper. I've never made one and actually never used one. I've got one now... The video of it's making is below.
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 19, 2020 Global Moderator Share Posted April 19, 2020 Not sure how well it will function, but I made my 6 year old a mini bladed jig. It's a 1/0 hook on a 1/8oz head and micro blade. Color scheme is one of my most popular and blue is his favorite color so that part was easy. Next to one of my standard 3/8oz baits for scale.

I just post stuff because i'm weird that way I enjoy the tech, and it's something to do. I think I'll make a rod rack for the house tomorrow.
DanielG
Today I went out into the shop and put together a simple rod rack for the house. Three pieces of wood and a few screws
Super User J Francho Posted April 21, 2020 Super User Share Posted April 21, 2020 You have all the cool toys! I like the hidden countersunk mounting screws on the stabilizer. The pocket holes are a nice touch - hidden and strong!

Every time I pull back on the trigger I still wonder what damage I'll do and how good it will come out. Keep it up and make sure we get to see the future work. Thnx for posting. I'll bet nearly everyone here would take a look at the process if someone made one. If you ever do another on consider that. I'd certainly watch.
