No they are just the rubber collars.  I have not ventured down that rabbit hole yet.  I’ve been doing some research on it though.

Check out @Smalljaw youtube videos. His work is awesome and extremely informative. His how tos have been invaluable to me.

I’m getting ready to make some red ones my self.  I think I’m going to use my horizontal Hook eye arkie mold though

Time is of abundance. Clear coating when the temp rises.  23 more to go.

Latest batch ( well some were in the last post).  I literally have so many arkies, football jigs, and poison tails now it’s disgusting.  The 3/4 brush jigs I bought on eBay painted green pumpkin.  The football jigs I bought from cadman unpaired 2 years ago and I still have a bunch I need to paint.  The arkies and poisons are mine from start to finish.

That last batch of poisons I did I used devcon 2 ton epoxy as a clear coat.  Stuff is pretty slick and that finish is tough As nails.  It’s basically self leveling so it hides brush strokes or if you put to much on in a area 4FAE2A2D-EE37-4D13-B1A2-447EAD6D1963.jpeg.2d795e331509bd77b72c01c231bfe01c.jpegCDD6DCF2-E822-4E67-BBF5-3FBA434BBFC5.jpeg.c7852938012921c3c0d3ae1a2c97f6d4.jpeg

Jig box is full !!!!.  Most of these I have made except the 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 oz in the top left compartment

First bladed jig of the year.  I planned on making 2-3 red bladed jigs plus some other colors.  However, apparently I am out blades and only had one left.  LPO  which, is where I got them the last time is  shutting their doors today for who knows how long.  Found some more on eBay but, the guy is in Cali and they are locked down.  Might have to get some from Jann’s

A few of my latest cedar squarebills and a pic of the wood patterns that I make to trace these out. Easier for me to use these than paper or cardboard templates.

Nice job, your shaping and sanding is great. But your airbrushing skills are second to none.

Great job, seems like you’ve got the paint pretty figured out. Nice full skirts also.

Nice job.

I took the baits I made this winter down to the dock for the first time and got them wet. These is a foray into making my first baits. Some successes and some failures. Video below.

Latest Update: It didn't work. The picture is now replaced with a video below.....

---------------------

For the fun of it today I decided to try some experimental stuff. A bait with

1. mid body diving planes (like on a submarine) Trying to get it to dive deeper.

2. Two line ties to be able to change the action a bit.

3. Purple... Never used it before. Purple and gold. Strange but true.

The verdict is still out as to how it goes. I may still have to make some modifications before I eventually toss it out!

Those skirts look really full. How many strands are you using per?

I've always used 5 tabs on my jigs.

@DanielG,

You should keep your submarine bait, it has an interesting wobble when you were testing it close to shore.  Maybe you should retrieve it slower, at the speed you tested it.  It might not dive as deep as you envisioned, but could be effective nonetheless.

Today I made a diver that actually dives. And it seems to move nicely in the water too.
