Oh man, I made one similar a few years back and had great success with it...Good luck! All look great, this one brought back some memories.

Fall fishing will be here soon which means colder water is right around the corner. A few multi-species spinners are ready to go.

What is the stuff on the treble hooks?  Is it chenille?  Does it help the lure?

A customer asked me to match a very unique spinnerbait color with one of my bladed jigs. Hopefully he'll be happy with the results.

My bladed jig color match. I don't have a blue sapphire paint, so I did an improvisation to match the head to the bait.

It is, I think I got pretty close though. I feel like I got the right colors in the right places and close to the right amounts. My poor phone camera doesn't take very good pictures either so that doesn't help tell the whole story.

Sorry bud, I haven't logged in for a while. It is chenille. Does it help? IDK, I've caught fish on both dressed and undressed hooks. Undressed hooked lures cast further than dressed because the dressed hooks provide wind resistance. This time of year, we get pretty windy up here in the Northeast, so I thought this was a good compromise. Besides, I thought I did a good job of matching the beads. A much better job of matching than how I go to work in the morning...:)

Had another bait match request. This time to do a smaller version to match a #5 Flicker Shad. End result was a 1/4oz bait on a 4/0 hook with a more streamlined skirt trimmed down to make the whole package smaller. The coffin blade is a touch smaller and seems to work better with the lighter bait too.

Powder Paint

Working on a few new powder paints and techniques while I wait for my fluid bed to arrive. I tried the makeup brush trick to sprinkle an accent color on while it's still hot.

L to R:

Watermelon pepper

Junebug

Black blue flake w/some junebug on top

Watermelon pepper w/orange flake

Pearl w/ watermelon pepper on top

Who did you order from? I was thinking of building my own.

TJ's Tackle, specifically their eBay store as it seemed to have the best deal.

2" Fluid bed with 2 cups and 2oz. of chartreuse powder paint. - $35.99 + $9 shipping
