T.Killian
Testing out some illusion paint. Seems to be a little temperamental for a consistent look. I'll get them all decent eventually.

What is the stuff on the treble hooks? Is it chenille? Does it help the lure?
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 16, 2019 Global Moderator Share Posted October 16, 2019 A customer asked me to match a very unique spinnerbait color with one of my bladed jigs. Hopefully he'll be happy with the results. My bladed jig color match. I don't have a blue sapphire paint, so I did an improvisation to match the head to the bait.
Super User Munkin Posted October 16, 2019 Author Super User Share Posted October 16, 2019 It is tough to match when you just get sent a pic isn't it? Allen
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 17, 2019 Global Moderator Share Posted October 17, 2019 It is, I think I got pretty close though. I feel like I got the right colors in the right places and close to the right amounts. My poor phone camera doesn't take very good pictures either so that doesn't help tell the whole story. Does it help the lure? Sorry bud, I haven't logged in for a while. It is chenille. Does it help? IDK, I've caught fish on both dressed and undressed hooks. Undressed hooked lures cast further than dressed because the dressed hooks provide wind resistance. This time of year, we get pretty windy up here in the Northeast, so I thought this was a good compromise. Besides, I thought I did a good job of matching the beads. A much better job of matching than how I go to work in the morning...
Super User Munkin Posted October 17, 2019 Author Super User Share Posted October 17, 2019 Is it chenille #5? I prefer London Gentlemen myself. Allen 1

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 6, 2019 Global Moderator Share Posted November 6, 2019 Had another bait match request. This time to do a smaller version to match a #5 Flicker Shad. End result was a 1/4oz bait on a 4/0 hook with a more streamlined skirt trimmed down to make the whole package smaller. The coffin blade is a touch smaller and seems to work better with the lighter bait too.

Harold Scoggins
I saw your discussion in the other thread where you talked about TJ's. That's about as cheap as I've seen. Let us know how it performs.
