hate mowing enough that I got rid of all the grass in my yard.  Woods and landscape ftw.

Here's the solution right here for all of you that dislike yard work.  Remove it and replace it.

My wife loves the smell of fresh cut grass. One of the only good things from the covid fiasco the past couple years is that after nearly 25 years of marriage she decided she gets some enjoyment out of mowing the lawn!

riding mower great, walk behind sucks.

Man, I been cutting grass like mad last two days. We’ve been getting plenty of rain as usual and it’s growing like crazy . I’ve got my house, a buddy’s rental, moms house and a lake house to cut. All my clothes and shoes are green

I’ve got a $150 push mower from Home Depot and a $50 weed eater from wal mart but by god they cut like champs. Also mom has a brand new yard and they put that stupid straw matting net down. Pulling that up nearly killed me. I called my

buddy that does this stuff for a living and asked him what to do about that netting, he said I try to never use it hahaha. I will say the grass grew really well where the builder put it (as you can see in the bottom pic left of the driveway) but he didn’t put it everywhere (thank god)

I hate mowing, it's time I could and would be fishing

However, here in the middle of tickville it's needed on the regular.

The more ya mow, the more ticks get on ya haha

Love it most days. 6.5 acres to cut and a 2 acre pond to weed eat. Round up is my friend around our pecan trees and grape vines.

Mow it in the hottest part of the day with deck on lowest setting. It stresses the grass and stunts it some......what I do.

My wife loves driving the zero turn, which just leaves the weed-eater to me, which I hate.

Well I mowed today, and I found one thing I hate worse than that. Getting a pool clean.

Love it!

Love the smell of fresh cut grass. Love the look of straight lines. Love the 2 hours of uninterrupted serenity. Love the smell of diesel in the afternoon.

I bent the blade on the mower last time I mowed. The only thing I hate more than mowing, spending money on my lawn mower. Its gotten a new pull cord and main handle, now it looks like if I cant straighten the blade I have to decide if I buy a new one or give up on this mower and get a new one.

Blades are usually cheap, hard part is getting them off. I worked for a lawn crew in college and my boss’s garage where we kept all the equip was immaculate. The only thing out of place was a 2x4 and long pvc pipe in the corner. On rainy days, we would take all the blades off (3 20” blades per machine) and sharpen them. The blade on the far right of each mower was stuck on every single time. He would go grab the 2x4 and pvc pipe and say “bet you wuz wonderin’ what these wuz for!” If you got 2x4 wedged against the deck and the blade, put a wrench on the nut, and the pvc pipe on the wrench handle, the breaker bar effect would finally loosen the nut

If you let your yard go, you'll get an assortment of beautiful flowers and a few hummingbirds.PXL_20220522_164620348.thumb.jpg.f9cced15b21c0170add25c8a37fe9510.jpg

Mound, MN - suburb of Minneapolis.

From the city code - items classified as 'Nuisances'

"any excessive or un-controlled growth of other weeds, and un-mowed turf-
grass exceeding eight (8) inches in height. "

Just stay right where you are, buddy. Cities come with people that can’t mind their own business

Some people need to have their business minded for them. I had a neighbor that had a leg amputated from diabetes. He could get out and mow his front yard but would not mow the back. Another neighbor and I offered to help him and mow and weed eat for him. He wouldn't let us. After we started having a lot of snakes show up and some one spotted rats we called in on him. He got his son to come mow for him. About a year later we called in on him again. He finally bought a riding mower to keep it mowed.
