  • My lovely bride of 28 years is an amazing cook. With 8 kids you don't eat out much. Nor do you eat from boxes due to costs. So, she cooks from "scratch", as they say. This example is sourdough pizzas.

  • I love my wife, I really do. But I cook purely in self-defense.  She knows it too. ? A-Jay

Why are you wasting stomach space with all that other "stuff" when there's burnt pork ends to be eaten?

Learned a valuable lesson with the new stove.  Wife’s recipe for prime rib included an “oven off” period after bringing to temp.  We like our prime on the rare side.  The prime came out medium.  Same recipe we have used for years.  The only thing that changed was the stove.  I am assuming the stove held temperature better than our older one and caused the overcook.  Mildly disappointing but made for a great beef stroganoff leftover meal.

Homemade biscuits and sausage gravy. There is no better breakfast.

Just saw this on bbqpitboys and had to give it a shot. Smoked some bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers and then made burgers stuffed with them. Have to say it was pretty tasty.

We had a guy on our St Clair trip who is a pizza connoisseur.  He has a portable pizza oven and another at his house that he imported from Italy.  He made us traditional Detroit style pizza this year, makes his own dough, sauce, etc. A real treat.

I am not a big sweets person but my wife made some rhubarb crisp yesterday and I had a piece after dinner.  It was fantastic.  Heck, I might even have another one after dinner tonight too.

Rhubarb crisp with homemade ice cream is hard to beat.

Seen this alot but never tried it. I'm sure its as delicious as it sounds. Also good call on the corn, always a good choice.

My 12 year old made dinner for a "look into asia" assignment.  Pad Prig Krapow and Pad Tuafakyao.  So good.

My duck connect came through (my dad bought some at the farmers’ market and gave me a bunch).

I cooked up some legs tonight. Slow cooked them for a couple hours, then seared them in a pan to get the skin super crispy. Then I made a red wine and duck fat-reduction to go over it. Brown sugar-glazed carrots and wild rice on the side. Ate like a king tonight. Duck is about the tastiest meat out there.

@Jar11591, my buddy gives me a whole yeti cooler full of ducks every year straight from the rice fields of Arkansas . No legs or fat  but still delicious ! I have to cook them for about 5 minutes instead of a couple hours with no fat
